Question about Apollo 1230 Mk-III Turbo
« on: December 14, 2004, 02:25:52 AM »
i have heard that my Apollo 1230 Mk-III Turbo can be fitted with an additional 72 pin ram socket.
can you tell me if this is true and if so, where to get the socket from.

It's true, as it's a bit of soldering to do fitting the socket why not clean up on the skills by removing a socket from an old tossed away PC? It's a standard 72pin simm socket, though it's at an angle so make sure you get one of those.

Sounds a bit hard to do, but if you got the soldering skills, it's definately possible.  Why not order the part or hunt down an old PC board from a friend?  :-D  :-)

@BlitzThose:

You should not need any drivers for this card.

@BlitzThose:

Do you have the possibility to try them in different machines and or diskdrives?

It isn't so that Lotus Turbo Challenge has compability issues with an A1200?

nope ive only got the one a1200, one disc crashes after starting a race while the other one won't even boot.

if it was a compatibility issue wouldn't they crash at the same point

Try using http://www.whdload.de/

Lotus III works just fine with that...
