Some Coincidences are truer than others.
Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.
True but Kennedy died on Friday and Lincoln died on Saturday.
Kennedy's secretary was named Lincoln.
Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.
Not true, Lincoln's White House secretaries were John G. Nicolay and John Hay.
Both were assassinated by Southerners.
Not unless you consider Maryland a Southern state, (some people do) because they fought for the North during the war. Maybe people say this because John Wilkes Booth's father was from the southern part of England.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy (maybe), was born in 1939.
John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
No he wasn't. John Wilkes Booth was born on May 10, 1838
Lee Harvey Oswald was born on Oct 18, 1939
Both assassins were known by their three names.
Probably not. It is kind of a joke in the US for the news to call all assassins by their full names, usually three. For instance "Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme was more sinister than Lynette Alice Fromme. Oswald was just known as Lee Oswald until the news media got his name. Booth usually billed himself as John Wilkes to distinguish himself from his father and brothers who were also actors.
Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.
I don't know if Booth's death would be considered an assassination, as he was shot by Sgt. Thomas P. Corbett, one of a group of soldiers that had surrounded Booth and David Herold in a barn. Lincoln was shot in a theatre and the assassin ran to a warehouse. It wasn't a warehouse, it was a barn. The barn was set on fire and Herold surrendered but Booth did not.
On the other hand, he might have been, because the guy that shot him was a little light in the head. An Englishman probably suffering from mercury poisoning due to his old occupation as a hat maker. Corbett had castrated himself with a pair of scissors just "to avoid the temptation of prostitutes" and later he lived in a hole dug into the side of a hill.
Kennedy was shot from a wareehouse and the assassin ran to a theatre. No he didn't. He first went to the lunchroom in the building and had a coke. He then caught a bus and then a taxi to his home where he got a handgun and headed back to the bus stop. A cop, J.D. Tippit, spotted him walking and got killed in the process for his effort. Oswald then hid in a theatre but was seen going in and was arrested for the shooting of the cop. As strange as it sounds Oswald was never officially charged with the assassination of Kennedy because he was assassinated himself 2 days later by Jack Ruby.
Kennedy was shot in a car called 'Lincoln' made by 'Ford'.
Lincoln Motor Company was bought by Ford, but it is still a Lincoln.
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was with Marilyn Monroe.
Not unless he was in her vault, as she died August 5, 1962 and Kennedy died on November 22, 1963.
