Another homecoming!
« on: December 08, 2004, 04:55:06 AM »
Well, after about 5 years hiatus from the Amiga, I'm back, and better than ever!  I've owned an Amiga since my first A500 in 1987, and owned every major version of it, with the exception of the cd32.

I've currently got an A4000, with a Cyberstorm MKII-060, and a Piccaso IV.  Too much memory to count :)  It's the fanciest Amiga I've ever seen - and sitting here using it in conjunction with my iBook G4, I can't tell too much difference in speed!

I've also got an A2000, which was a recent eBay purchase.  Its main goal in life is to play old games without fuss :)  However, i'd like to tweak a few things!

BTW, anyone got a spare flicker fixer laying around?  My old 1084 is getting pretty creaky, and I've got a few VGA monitors laying around here.  I'm trying not too make the 2000 too upgraded, but just enough to do damage!

In my real life, I'm a church organist and choir director.  I'm taking a break between my undergraduate studies and graduate studies to pursue an interest in pipe organ building.  Pretty neat stuff.  Did you guys ever know that alot of organists used to use Amigas?  I keep running into more and more that did.

I currently work for Muller Pipe Organ Company.  You can check out our web page, www.mullerpipeorgan.com to see exactly what we do.

Thanks to all who still use Amigas!  It's a wonderful platform, and still a viable personal computer for every use.  My Celeron 866 is rotting in my closet once again - hopefully never to reappear!

@shayes1981

You did make a right decision.  I will soon have my Amiga 1200 and try to get it up in speed with an 060 and have the Amiga once again.

Sure the internet apps arent too recent, but its sure nice knowing that you are a one of a kind user online.  :-)

Feel free to ask any questions you may have here.  There are alot of helpful users. Enjoy your stay.  :-D

@ shayes1981

According to www.amiga-hardware.com the PicassoIV already has a flickerfixer integrated so you won't need to buy another one.

Nonsense! Get that old Celery out and install AROS on it.  Or atleast try the live native AROS-Max CD on it.

With UAE (and soon, E-UAE), yes.

For those who want more seamless UAE intergration, I may suggest a donation to TeamAROS Bounty #7.

;-) Dude, I believe he meant for the A2000, while his Picasso is in his A4000.
