xadmaster and voodoo-x
« on: December 04, 2004, 09:41:12 PM »
Hey all, I'm having trouble using Voodoo-X, The GUI for xadmaster. I have installed Xadmaster V12.1 and MUI 3.8 with the classes it needs, but when I try to start Voodoo-X it says it cannot find xadmaster.library version 10... I have looked in the Libs drawer and it is in there, I also tried to specify it in tooltypes, with no luck, anyone shed any light on this please?

That sounds strange. I use Voodoo-X (ver 1.5) and xadmaster (ver. 13.0). SnoopDOS shows it only searches for xadmaster.library in Libs.

When you installed xadmaster, did it also create a folder called "xad" in Libs containing all the unarchivers?

Yes it did, I made a copy of xadmaster.library and put it in the Libs:xad/ folder too just to be sure.

The only way I've been able to reproduce this error is by renaming xadmaster.library or by turning the read attribute off.

Try checking the file attributes on xadmaster.library (make sure "read" is on).

I checked it and it is readable, not sure what the problem is, I have the exact same setup on my A1200 and it works fine, I had the problem with My WinUae setup too though.

So it works fine on the A1200, but not on WinUAE? Maybe it's a WinUAE bug/incompatibility.

I'm using Voodoo-X/xadmaster on a real Amiga, so I have no idea about WinUAE. Hopefully somebody using WinUAE also using Voodoo-x/xadmaster can help.

No it's not a WinUae problem, as I get the Error on WinUae and My A4000.

Robert

Edit: The A4000 is 3.1

Did you try comparing the SnoopDOS log from your working A1200 installation with the A4000 log?

In SnoopDOS, does it say FAIL when attempting to open xadmaster.library 10? (I know that's what the error message says, but does SnoopDOS also say it) Is there anything else that fails?

Did you try copying the xadmaster.library from your A1200 to your A4000?

I know these are some pretty lame questions, but you have to be very specific when attempting to solve strange problems like this.
