When posting ebay (and long) links, please consider using the correct way of posting a link (see button above or use {url=http://url}text{/url} -- substituting [ and ] for the { } above.

Is it overpriced?
I tend to have the attitude that since Amiga is a dead platform, the hardware prices should reflect this.  That said, I think 100-200 USD is pretty outrageous for an old video card.

But, as I thumb through old magazines, I notice that cards like this sold for $550 "1993" dollars.
So I guess it has taken quite a fall!

Still ... I wish I could recover even 20% by selling my outdated nVidia TnT and GeForce cards.  Computers really are commodities now.

It's ALL pretty expensive, as far as Amiga hardware goes, however since this is a ZII gfx card with only 2MB of video ram, I think that it's currently priced way higher than it should be.

I sold a PII (not a PII+) on UK ebay recently, and it went for 36 GBP ~ 70 USD

Why does everyone else luck out with ludicrous auctions? I can just see it - I'll list a Blizzard PPC+ (240MHz/060@50MHz) + BVision and it'll go for 200 GBP, and the next week, one will go for 400 GBP...

(Saying that, I did get 16 GBP ~ 30 USD for an A1200 PSU a couple of weeks back, but that's small beer)
I like Amigas

@Cyberus:

A BPPC 060/240Mhz would sort of go for a very high bid by default, I think. :-)

@X

Wow... Maybe I deserve my @$$ kicked for this one, eh?

We're not talking about ubiquitous PC hardware, though.  This stuff's worth no more than a buyer is willing to pay.

And to think... I've been trying to replace it ever since the sale.

I saw a Picasso II plain sell in -EDIT- Sep for $145. (see link above) So the current price for that Picasso II Plus is a good deal. Got to admit though, it does look sweeeet!  :-D

@EzdineG:

LOL, so you are the crazy highest bidder. ;-)

Good luck. Picasso II+ is slightly better than a plain II.

@ Cyberus

I bid on your card when it was £16 and took it up to £30. I tried a little bit.

With the resent deal from Red offering a PCI, Voodoo3 and Ethernet solution, guaranteed to work, for less I don't get it why ppl still pay these rediculous amounts for old Amiga hardware that are sold "as-is". :crazy:

Some ppl are just not prepared to wait for the right deal I guess... I meen... a few months ago I bought an A4000D, 040/25, CV3D+Scandoubler, Ariadne1 and Buddha in a mint contidion (except for battery been removed) for about 215$... and a year ago I bought an A4000D in Mirage Pro tower, CSPPC060, PCI, CV3D+Scandoubler, Ariadne1, FastATA + more for about 550$. :-o
