And now... the waiting.
« on: December 01, 2004, 05:45:39 AM »
Well, my old A4000 PPC/060 never came back from the dead. Well, it sort of did if I took the Picasso IV out of it, but I couldn't really look at that screen anymore. Need bigger, less flicker. Can't go back.

So now I've mailed off the order and I await my uA1. *sigh*. It's been hours already. When will it arrive?!!

I'd guess this depends from where you have ordered it and if you have paid for premium package shipping or ordinary one.

I still can't get over the price.  How much did you end up paying if I might ask?  (and specs please)
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

If you don't mind me asking... how many mortgages did you need to take out to buy it?

@FluffyMcDeath

Congrats! I'm sure you'll love it!

But as for waiting... phew... I know waiting. I registered my interest to purchase a Phase 5 G4 card with Blittersoft all those years ago, and waited. I pinned my hopes on the AmiJoe, and waited. I then pinned my hopes on the SharkPPC, and waited. Then I ordered an AmigaOne XE ages before they finally shipped, and waited several months for that. Then I waited for OS4 (although fortunately, I DID get OS4 around 6 months before most ;-)... Waiting is very much a theme for the Amiga community ;-)

@xeron

Hehe - I was tidying out recently (moving apartment) and came across a letter from Phase5 regarding my delayed G4 card - asking whether I'd accept the updated specification, or wanted to cancel out (IIRC).

Waiting is definitely something I've had to get used to... but still don't like! :-)

It's this one.
micro A one

I went for a prebuilt job as I don't have a lot of tinker time right now. The price seemed pretty reasonable. It's about what I paid for a 4000 some years back. It's about twice what I paid for a PPC/060 board. And it'll be the first bit of not pre-owned kit I've bought in years. I'm pretty excited.

Alien / BoXeR !! A-Box etc.

Yeah, there's been a lot of vapour. I've learned to wait until something actually ships. It's just so cool that this thing EXISTS. That in itself makes it so extraordinary I need to buy it!
