Strange problem when launching games from HD
« on: November 30, 2004, 08:40:21 PM »
Hi!

I have an A1200 with an IDE hard disk and some games installed.

I have a strange problem: when the game is accessing the disk to load datas, music is interrupted and display diappears. Is it because the IDE interface is unbuffered??

Nota: if the game is launched from a floppy it works well. So it is really related to hard disk...

Does someone know about that?

Thank you for help!

That is normal. It happens with some floppy games too (i.e. in Settlers).

Thank you for information

But it seems unbelievable to me that the amiga isn't able to play music and display graphics when loading a game level. For me it looks like a DMA sharing problem...
