Problems with Terratec512 soundcard & Mediator SX
« on: November 28, 2004, 11:15:41 AM »
I am having great problems with using my terratec512 soundcard with mediator SX.
The network card is in  slot1 and works fine, the voodoo3 is in slot 2 and works fine as well.
Because of the lack of space i did put the terratec in slot 4 instead of 3. Then i did install AHI (v4,x) and the sounddriver (SB128)from the
elbox cd rom (first AHI, then the sounddriver). When i type :pciinfo in command prompt, the soundcard is
"seen" by amiga, so far it went great. But then i did install AmigaAmp wich uses the AHI.
This programm "could not open AHI.device, make sure you are using version 4 (i do!)and that preferences are set right".
Now I can only imagine that i did not set the prefs right, what i did is that i did set the AmigaAmp prefs to unit 0 and max 4800hz and in Prefs:AHI i did set unit 0 to max 44100 and later on to 4800,
both cases resulted in the same message ? Can someone help me out here ? Thanks to the Amiga community on forehand, respect to the maximum !

kind regards,

lyrical

p.s. :even though i own several Amiga's and work with them for quite a while,
i am realy totaly new to AHI, this is my first soundcard in an amiga !

Not sure, but why would a Soundblaster driver work with a Terratec card ? Doesn't Terratec make their own soundchips ?

Everything you say will be misquoted and used against you.

I realy couldn't tell you. AHI is quite new to me, the card is supported by mediator, but how can i find out if i would need another driver for the terratec?
I will check on the elbox website to get more info..

You have to use the Terratec512 driver from de MMCD.

Copy fm801.audio from MMCD:Devs/AHI To Sys:Devs/AHI
Copy fm801 from MMCD:Devs/Audiomodes To Sys:Devs/Audiomodes
A4000 E/BOX 4000 PCI Tower, CyberStorm-PPC 060/50 PPC/180, USB, Voodoo 5500, 10/100 Network, Terratec 512i, eFlash 4000, CV64 scandoubler. (sold)
Pegasos II G3/600Mhz, Sounblaster Live, Radeon 9000 pro 128 Mb. Happy MOS 1.4.5 user. I hate M$ tactics, so no MO$ 2.x for me.

I use a Terratec512i in my Amiga too.  It works quite well - even the optical source works on it! I connected a fibre optic cable to my seperate mini disc player and it worked a treat.
