Any Good Pool / Billiards Games On Amiga?

Hi

I remembered a pool game yesterday that was given away on an Amiga gamedisk (The One, June 1995). This game was called Friday Night Pool. The game was very good (shareware), and ran very well on my old A600 (before it broke). But unfortunately, it runs far too fast, even on a degraded A1200. So i was wondering whether there are any other decent pool / Billiards games on Amiga, commercial, or PD games, i don't mind. :-)

Archer Macleans Pool!

Nice physics, it has UK pool, hilarious cue chalking noises, and if you leave the mouse long enough your opponents balls make faces at you.

Are you the same Peter Gordon that done 6k Pacman and 5k Space Invaders. Just wondering, as i got them with a HD i got off ebay and couple of weeks agao. Pretty good games! :-)

Hmm... seems its not available for free download :-( Good luck finding a copy.. I'd sell you mine, but I still play it occasionally, so ;-)

As for those games, wow thats a blast from the past. Yeah, I wrote them in Amiga E years ago.. 5k Space Invaders is surprisingly fun, yes. But 6k Pacman is fatally flawed; its possible to remove a dot without it registering as "eaten" so you end up with invisible dots which you have to blindly find to finish the level ;-)

I could make much smaller versions these days as my 68k assembler skills are much better..

Thats a shame. I may have a hunt around on Aminet later and have a look.

Yep. 5k Invaders is pretty addictive. 6k Pac Man is also good, but can run between fast and slow on my 060... but it runs! :-) I like these style of games.

Well, it won't be on Aminet, its a commercial game, so check the legal download sites... but I've got a feeling its not been given a free release...

Arcade Pool (Team17) seems a good one (i'm not a game expert).

Yeah, I know. In fact IIRC the games were almost twin brothers right down to the grinning balls. Well, one has a bigger table ofcourse :-).

Yeah, the serious choices would probably be Team 17's "Arcade Pool" and "Archer MacLean's."  

For a hearty belly-laugh and pure cheesiness in an adorable late-80's budget-release kind of way, though... I highly recommend "Fast Eddie's Pool and Billiards."  The computers comments alone are worth it.  "What a spaz-moid!"
