« on: February 14, 2003, 08:47:27 AM »
Since I use WinUAE I think P96 Graphics-Driver
is very fast...
On my real AMIGA I use Cybergraphics (latest Version)
Which one is better for the real AMIGA ?

P96 does not have a driver for the CyberVision gfx card.  You have to use CyberGraphX software for that one.

Picasso 96 supports Cybervision 64 and Cybervision 64/3D without problems. I had my Cybervision 64 working with p96 and It worked quite well.

The phase5 graphic cards not supported by picasso96 are the Cybervision PPC and BlizzardVision PPC.

@duesi:
just make a copy of your monitor driver and put it in storage, then install picasso96 and compare yourself. There aren't many differences between both... some people find cgx more compatible and others find p96 faster and easier (but less compatible). Just try both. You can run programs like picasso96 speed to compare too.

I use picasso96 with my A2000 -Cybervision64/3D  graphics card, because despite several hours of trying, I could not get CGX4 to work in this config, so I gave up and tried P96, which worked on the first try.

But yes, if you have a cybervisionPPC for a cyberstorm accel (whether PPC or only 68K), you have to use CGX because P96 doesn't have drivers, as someone already posted.  And sometimes that can be 'fun' to get working, too bad the P96 guys never had a CybervisionPPC to write drivers for it, doh!

I believe the cybervisionPPC is the fastest of the cybervision graphics cards series but as you can't test P96 with it, there's no way to know if it would be faster with CGX4 or P96.

Not sure if the cybervisionPPC is faster than the PIV, however, I think it's using a bit newer hardware but honestly don't know.
