iamaboringperson : wanna use a DVD on your classic Amiga ??? Not really a big problem, just get yourself a Powerflyer ATA controller and the AllegroCDFS that comes with it and then you can read DVD´s. No need for a PPC, a standard A1200 or A3000/A4000 will do just fine  :-)

Current DVD storage protential is about ~20GB (give or take a few), but there are potential successors to the DVD format already, whose makers are slugging it out for standards supremacy.

I can imagine how long it takes to format a DVD+RW on the Amiga, hmmm, 2 hours?  :-o More loooonger, sleeeepless nights.
wouldn't using rock ridge be faster process?
i mean, set up the DVD to accept files like a HD, so that you copy files as you need to. at least that's the way it works on Windows (yeah, i know)

I've never used a DVD burner on any amiga. but i'll be testing it out on the new uA1 as soon as I can.
the no CARB diet- no Cheney, Ashcroft, Rumsfeld or Bush.
