Amiga Disk help
« on: October 05, 2004, 06:30:34 PM »
HI all, I wonder if anyone can help me with a program.  I have owned an Amiga 1200 for just over 2 years and over that time picked up software and stuff for it, and plus I got a hard drive and 8mb ram card as well.

Anyway back 6 months ago I was given a pile of amiga disks and drives and 2 500's which one did not boot (I keep for spares) and one which needed a modulator.

I now have want to back up the software I had with the 500's, and my 1200 software and the games and programs I had with a 500 I got in a boot sale for £4 with a load of stuff.  Some programs I have backed up Ok, but I am having trouble with the copy protected games and programs.

I am not looking at piracy, but as a backup as some of the disks are quite old.  I tried .DMS and *.ADF but I can't seem to get around the copy protection to backup or run on WinUAE.

Any advice on which software to use (I got dcopy, xcopy, lockpick and freecopy) is appreciated.  Thanks.

I use Xcopy to copy disks. Some copy protection could be override with the methode Nibble. Xcopy makes an exact copy of the disk. But I think you would like to backup on CD-R? The best thing is to use WHDload (www.whdload.de). With these installer you could backup your games on the HD and you could use these files with Winuae.
