I wouldn't do that, everyone here knows you are a troll.

Whereas, you are a conscienscous person who has no political agenda and tolerates different views? :) Tell me, Mikey, are you part of one of the few active Amiga usergroups who still actually do something for the community? If you are, feel free to lecture me. If not, go back to censoring.

I could imagine doing cabaret for you Mikey - only to have the microphone switched off and you making frantic hand signals to security if I do something you don't like.

Let's see, you go to the trouble of making a logo of a company you know nothing about, nothing about how it got Amiga, and only found out that Amiga had been sold to them almost a year later over a vague statement.

It seems you lack the ability to read information passed on to you.  No wonder you couldn't get a job.

If you bothered to read the link I gave you you'll see that the avatar took almost no time and was soley made to annoy those with an inability to put things into perspective (like yourself)

In fact it probably took less time than it took you to register twice to troll on AmigaWorld.

Yet you still idolise them like its next year's lightsabre craze.

Idolise? Where was that again? Oh yeah, your reading comprehension problem, forgot about that momentarily.

Nah I'd rather get free money for sitting on my arse, refusing to work because it's too hard.

Why don't you go back to censorship world and take Mikey_C with you before he's writing to every moderator here trying to get this thread deleted, seeing how he's such a powerful advocate for free speech, and all.

Censorship world? Oooh, watch-out, maturity level overloading! You should really get out more and try expanding your vocubulary a little.

Why do you think I have any influence over Mikey_C? I've met the guy once, the same number of times as I've spoken to Bill Buck.

I will go if it really disturbs you so much, I'll just have to dodge the toys flying out of your pram to get to the door....

@Wayne

I love ya, but I gotta go against you on this one. Please don't take it personally, just IMHO.
(I've kept quiet on personal opinions for ~1 year or so, but with the expiration date on my involvement in this market approaching, I'll slip back into a user's roll;-))

this is yet another perfect illustration of what's wrong with this community.

Why are we all here? Yes there is a degree of morbid fascination, but deep down most are here with a degree of hope for the future of the platform in general. Blind advocacy is wrong, and ignoring mismanagement doesn't help anything. Likewise criticism in and of itself isn't harming anything. As long as it doesn't degrade into personal attacks, I really don't see fault in criticism.

Quote
Leave it to this community though to blow yet another completely pointless trivial detail to ape {bleep} proportions.

Trivial? I really have to disagree here. By Garry Hare's own words judge KMOS by their actions. What actions are there to go by? An interview on AW.net and a speech at AmiWest, words not actions. The only actions the public see so far are letting their domain expire. Also AFAIR Mr. Hare also stated at Amiwest in July t-shirts would be shipping and they haven’t. Going by his own request people are judging their actions, which is not very impressive. Would it be better to simply ignore them? Maybe but considering everyone here has the common background as Amiga users, it's hard to ignore the actions of the parent company.

Let me clarify something so it's not misinterpreted. I have nothing against AmigaOS 4 itself, Hyperion is obviously giving a lot of themselves to work on this project. However fish rot from the head down, and this one stinks.

If you ran a company, would you do business with a technology company that has no website, no email address, no phone number and no track record? I certainly won't, thus one of the nails in the coffin of me leaving the market.

BTW Wayne, PLEASE go see a doctor. Undiagnosed diabetes can wreak havoc and permenant damage on your body. :-(
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

Just sit back and wait to see who comes up with new hardware/sofware etc. That way if nothing comes out of it you wont be disappointed because you never expected anything anyway.

I couldn't get a job because I have an honours degree in a hard science in a country that has very little placements for such a thing. I've been asked for interviews in England and Wales, but I'm unwilling to relocate. And I'm rejected as overqualified for everything else. But of course, you even stating this in a thread where it has actually no relevance to ANY matter Amiga is beyond even your accustomed hypocricy. If you can't actually find an Amiga matter to argue on, I think you should quit before you show everyone that sheen of impartiality you like to rub on yourself has a habit of rubbing off.

A spade is a spade. I don't have to write a haiku for you, do I?

Edit: oh, and I should mention that I don't actually get money for sitting around doing nothing, since I don't actually claim benefit. My student loans are still enough. Sorry to disappoint you, uncharted.

Gary Hare during AmiWest 2004:

"I don't talk about product roadmaps or things that haven't happened yet. I won't violate confidentiality agreements with companies that I talk to and I don't expect the same back.

We don't have a KMOS website because we don't need one and we want to keep a low profile even now as we do deals...."

KennyR Scribbled...

My only "political" bias is towards Eyetech and Hyperion, anything else is just not worth the time of day.

>Tell me, Mikey, are you part of one of the few active Amiga
>usergroups who still actually do something for the
>community? If you are, feel free to lecture me. If not, go

Erm Let me see, I am the Chairman of Amiga North Thames a usergroup based in North London (UK)
Myself and the group have actively helped put on Amiga shows in the past. for example WOASE (along side SEAL)

I will be at Big Bash 2 doing a live webcast from the show.

I help to promote Total Amiga Magazine and write the odd article there as well.

I also run maconamiga. as another service to the Amiga community

And yes I am a moderator on AW also.

Now then, Mr Unemployed person from Dundee, apart from abusing people and trolling everywhere, what positive input do you make?

>I could imagine doing cabaret for you Mikey - only to have
>the microphone switched off and you making frantic hand
>signals to security if I do something you don't like.

Actually you have that wrong, Security would have it's hands full keeping Amiga users from wanting to lynch you in public.

But its worth the time trying to defend them by removing opinions that are critical of them, isn't it?

Yes yes, shows, magazines, events: all have done nothing for the past decade except try to keep people's interest, and failed. And your website contributions have been overshadowed by the fact that your biased moderation has damaged the reputation of a nice community site and given it the personality of goatse.cx.

I'm not from Dundee (It seems you lack the ability to read information passed on to you, as uncharted would say), I don't troll everwhere (even with your rather creative definition of the word), and I beta test, write documentation, and help write press releases for AmigaZeux software, including AmiNetRadio.

Yes, it's unpopular actually writing an opinion in public while having the decency to show it straight unapologetically and not through subterfuge or insidious control of what other people say, isn't it. I'm sick of trying to defend myself against hypocrites like you who are even more biased than I am but would use covert methods to further your agenda rather than just say it out loud.
