AWeb 3.4 and 3.5 Beta
« on: September 26, 2004, 12:18:41 AM »
Hey all, how do you get on with this browser? It crashes on me sometimes when viewing sites, sometimes even on Amiga.org, anyone else have stability issues with this?

Hi Robert17,
Yep, I tried 3.5 on my A2000 and have not had real good luck with it.  The browser does not flicker much like the old did, but I'm having trouble signing on and posting to websites. Best regards...Art

No problems here with the "AWeb-II 3.4APL", but I haven't tried the 3.5b yet.

I had some strange crashes with the right scroll-bar years ago when I was using the commercial demo of AWeb that came with the WB 3.5 .

Well I can post allright here just get random crashes, for example it won't view Yahoo.com or Ami sector one website, just seems a tad odd. Could it be lack of power, I'm only running an '030 50mhz w/o FPU... What't the best resolution to use on AGA chipset for surfing anyway, I know it's not ideal but maybe there's a way to make the fonts bigger or something? I've tried using FBlit but to be honest I don't notice any speedup, probably because of my relatively low-spec machine.

3.4 is stable, if you dont use "Network-Status",
some sites make Problems. Im here with 3.4, for Login
you must accept Cokkies.
3.5 in the officiel Beta works, the "Double-Buffering"
seems to slow down the Browser with Zorro2 Grafikcards,
but that can switch off.
