Amiga 2000 WB1.3 PAL/NTSC?
« on: September 25, 2004, 09:21:16 AM »
I have this 2000 with 4.3 MB, KS1.3, 1MB Chip RAM, and 6MB Fast.  I am assuming it has the Fat Agnus?  Will this allow me to switch on the fly to PAL/NTSC?  (With switcher utilities)  The reason I ask is when I try to go into PAL the screen gets corrupt, like it doesn't work.  I thought the Fat Agnus allows PAL/NTSC?  Its been way too long for me to remember on these 2000/500s.

I also have a Commodore 2300 Genlock installed, would this cause a problem?

That would be my guess, as the genlock is set to sync your Amiga output with a NTSC signal, and could cause distortion when trying to sync with a PAL signal.

That's my guess, as well.  The Genlocks are region specific.

On an A500, the only chip you need is an 8372 (or greater) Agnus for hardware NTSC/PAL switching.  I'd assume the A2000 is the same, as they're really quite similiar designs.
