UAE on a Laptop running Linux
« on: September 25, 2004, 12:42:35 AM »
Hey :-)

I need some advice. Im a real novice when it comes to UAE. I want to run it on Fedora Core 2, on a 933 Laptop. If anyone has any emulation guides, etc PLEASE let me know! If you have any advice on setup, please either email kev@os4.co.uk or post here.

Cheers in advance!

What kind of advise? UAE compiling/installation/configuring, AmigaOS installation - or advice how to start games?

However,
there are well working binarys on Richard Drummond's page. He is the developer who currently maintains the Linux development of UAE.

http://www.rcdrummond.net/uae/

The binarys are a bit outdated but you can download the very latest sources and compile UAE yourself:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/uaedev/

The best way to download the latest sources is by connecting the cvs sever. Here is a explanation how to do that: http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=109723

You also need automake 1.7.1 or higher and autoconf >=2.55 and the sdl and gtk developer packages for your distribution, to compile UAE successfully.

If you need help compiling you can ask here - or better ask the mailing list - or read the archives of the list: http://www.freelists.org/list/uae

Ther is another Link that may help you: http://www.pcguru.plus.com/uae_faq.html
