I don't get it.  People sell stuff that has a know problem but do not fix it while they have the chance.

Here is a A3000 with a leaky battery for sale, even acnowledged by seller:

Just rip the damn thing out while you have the chance! LOL

Just ripping the battery out won't solve the problem...   Desoldering it is a better solution as "Ripping", like I did with the battery in my A3000 using a pair of pliers, made for a time consuming project.  At least the owner acknowledged the battery condition which some people might not do.

But ripping it out is better than having it leak all over the motherboard rendering the Amiga inop.

Also I was exadurating.  You can carefully remove it without pliers or a soldering iron.  I did.

It does not look that bad, so i am sure it can handle a few more weeks before it destroys anything..
Not everyone feels confident enough about their tech skills to desolder/rip out batteries.. If you dont know what you are doing, then you can do more harm than good.

Atleast this seller is being honest and even showed some pictures of the battery. The buyer in this case will know what he buys.

True, atleast the buyer knows what he is getting into, BUT it doesn't explain that high starting bid though! ;)
