Ahh, what a fine machine this is, I'm very lucky to own one, it's one of my most coveted "toys" I use it frequently, mainly for tracking.

The Buy It Now price on this one is insane though!!!! PAL SX-64s are the most expensive of the bunch, but they would never cost as much as 330 dollars!

I paid 90 dollars (including shipping within the States) for mine, like 3 years ago. Back then the going rate was somewhere around 160/200 dollars for an NTSC SX-64. Did it skyrocket like this?

If you live in Europe you are better trying to find a PAL SX64 nearby your whereabouts. You might find a much better machine, and surely for a better price.

they for around $80-120 for a Sx64 on ebay.  Good machines..but I've seen them without broken/missing pieces for $100 so I wouldnt pay that much for this one.

I got a MINT one last summer for $86!  It even has the blue caps on the handle ends.  Very nice unit.  I ended up getting a manual and SX-64 TEST DEMO disk from ebay last week.  :-)

Ive always liked one of these but have never got one. ive seen two at car boot sales about twelve years ago they were for sale for 40 pound back then . :-)

These can sell for $200.  I know this because I've seen ones with "buy it now" sell at that price.

Failure points to look for in an SX-64:
Distorted sound
Missing keyboard cable
Disk drive failure
handle damage (and like Tj said, missing blue caps on the handle)

There are a lot of common SX-64 issues that you will see even with the "mint condition" ones you see on ebay.  

What I ended up doing is combining parts from 2 SX-64 and 1 c-64 to make a complete, good-condition SX.  I think that's the cheap way to go if you are willing to do a little restoration work.

I'm a SX-64 lover if only becuse it keeps me from needing to add a 1702 monitor, C64 console, and 1541 drive to my collection.
