Question for the British members.
« on: September 02, 2004, 04:52:44 AM »
Now I know this show has been around for a long time, but I've only just began watching it while I eat my breakfast. My question is this...WTF is that show Basil Brush about??? Has British comedy gotten that bad??? Is this supposed to be a kids show???

Basil Brush was retired in the early 90s or so and was a classic, sadly the voice of basil died, the program thats on now is an offensive pile of crap that should NEVER have gotten near the airwaves!

As for its comedy value, it has none, except from the point of view that its a joke to call it such. It should more accurately be called a tragedy, or a travesty, take your pick.

I used to love Basil Brush, when I was like a 5 year old kid or something. I didn't know it was still about or that they'd remade it.

Boom boom!
I like Amigas

@Adz

Personally I found Basil Brush to be as irritating as Rod Hull and Emu... which I believe was a format blatantly nicked from you antipodeans.

I'd be uncharitable if I said BB was payback, but if it's any help when I'm running this country Basil Brush will be stood up against a wall and toasted with a flamethrower.

This is on the proviso that you guys do the same with the cast of Neighbours.

I think us and the Aussies are evens when it comes to unleashing terrible acts of entertainment on one another:

Australia:      vs      UK:

Danni Minogue  vs   Sonia
Neighbours    vs    Basil Brush
Home & Away   vs    Crossroads
Cell Block H   vs    Rod Hull & Emu
Holly Valence  vs   Geri Halliwell
Rolf Harris    vs   Michael Barrymore

I quite like the AK 47 idea, although I think herding them all into a field and unleashing a daisy cutter might be a better plan.

Sorry dude, you can't include Rolf Harris, that was torture for both countries :-P

mmmm...Daisy Cutter you say...nah...might be a better idea to ask Karlos for some fusion crackers  I think he keeps a box or two by his miggy ;-)
