Can the 24.21.xx.xx IP people still read Amiga.org so that if they are innocently banned, they'll know why? (Not that I think there will be any innocently banned.)

No, unfortunately.  I am hoping that if anyone knows someone who might be affected you might pass along both accept my apologies and my hopes that they understand the reasons why this has quickly become our only choice.

edit: essentially, this indicates a problem, in that Comcast's entire Oregon subnet (24.21.x.x) is affected.  I would presume that's pretty much most people in the Northwest, but time will tell.  We HAVE to either come up with a way to secure this asshole, or we have to shut down altogether, because of the inability to run securely.  Not a prospect I want, but I can't sit and babysit the site daily against this sick {bleep} for not getting the mental help he needs.

(Sorry, I'm feeling a little too honest).

Is banning all you can do ? Afterall, he's unwanted on several other forums (amigaworld, amd the Atari forum linked in a previous post) and ripped off several users maybe something else can be done ?

Where's that International Amiga scammer hit squad when you really need them ;-)

Who is this Doommaster guy?
What has he done besides ripping people off?
(that's bad enough of course)

- The advocacy of piracy
- insulting other users
- being a general pest
- outright harrassment of other users
- abusing the PM system
- ripping off of Amiga.org (and apparently now many users from other sites, including Atari sites) users via e-bay and other direct means.

need I go on?

I'd volunteer TjLaZer and myself to drive down and beat him up or something, but I’m afraid to drive to Oregon.  They don’t let you pump your own gas in that state, and I’m not gonna let those gas-station “workers” touch my car again!

It amazes me how somebody can be so stupid that they mess up closing the gas-cap on a car?

Hey, you don’t think that’s where Doommy works, do you?

I have been waiting for this to happen. Thanks Wayne !
doommaster burned me nearly a year ago for a pile of zorro boards and I never did get my a1200. He claimed he never got the boards, said his dog ate em or something. I for one say good riddence to doommaster ! Happy days for A.org !

Seriously, if you want something back from somebody here in the USA, here's what you can try:

Explain the situation to a private investigator and ask for thier advice.

Sound simple?  The catch is that this service can run $100-$200+ easily.

PIs still really exist here, and they are very effective at property recovery within the boundries of the law.  If you have a good case, it could be as simple as a PI showing up at the guy's home or place of work, and in front of his coworkers asking to speak with him about about the property dispiute.  People *really* don't like this type of confrontation/exposure in front of family or coworkers.

PIs tend to be retired police, so they have a very no-nonsense and slightly menacing demeanor, and they know the law well.

Somebody like this:

...and he takes PayPal.  How easy is that!

Has any of the moderators tried contacting his ISP, with copies of harrasing posts, and the information regarding his multilple IP bans and theft from community members?  Maybe they can do something...while I realize it's not likely, seems like it'd be worth a try anyway.

Using an anonymous IP proxy makes it difficult to point a finger, but yes, I am in contact with Comcast regarding this situation and logs have been exchanged.

My Amiga's been out of action for a few days, so I missed whatever was Doomy's final straw. However, under his BoingBoss alter ego, I had the impression he was trying to be a good boy. Obviously, I was wrong, but as BoingBoss he certainly appeared knowledgeable and helpful in the posts I read. I guess he's something of a schizophrenic... BoingBoss good boy, DoomMaster bad boy.

As one of a dozen AOrg members scammed out of 2,000 Euros and more by Binder, I sympathise with Doomy's victims and applaud the action now taken against him.

As for Gadd...anyone turned on by Mr Sheen needs help.

@ JaX

Yeah, I know what you mean, I feel a bit sad that he's gone. But then, irritating a few other posters is one thing, ripping people off is another...

Wow this guy sure is a class act scammer.  Good thing I drove down to pick up that A600 I won from eBay.  Otherwise I might of been out $180 in cash...  "I never got the Money Order, sorry."  Or "I mailed it out, it must of been lost"
Going Bananas over AMIGAs since 1987...

How does one recognize this guy on Ebay and is there some sort of Doommaster history/faq on Amiga.org?  I'm not up to speed on Doommaster lore...

I doubt any Amiga is rarer here (maybe the CD32 and the 3000/4000T?)
-edit-
Sorry, got off topic...
