IIRC Macs had some funky Applecentric connectors back in the day, any idea what the model no. of the monitor in question is?

Pretty useless auction, the seller gives zero information about the monitor. If you're interested I'd email the guy and ask for a model number and some other specifications.

Okay, thanks for the advice. Just asked him for the model number and which connector it actually is.
Fact is that even a Commodore 1940 Multiscan monitor has got a vga connector, so it may be possible that this Apple monitor has got one too ?!

early apple monitors have bigger connectors, but use the same actual signals

you'll possibly need a converter cable, or adaptor
but yes, it should at least be useable as a dblpal/dblntsc monitor and vga only

Hello,

Apple monitor usually work at frequency higher than 31KHz. You will not be able to display Amiga native 15KHz PAL or NTSC modes with it. It will work just as a VGA monitor.

Concerning the DB15 connector used in old macintosh monitors, it holds additional signals used by the mac computer to identify the type of monitor it is actually hooked to. You should not consider these signals if you use if with your Amiga. DB15 to HDB15 adaptors are available, but pinouts for such adaptors are widely disclosed on the net, and not hard to manufacture yourself...
