I'm giving up my attempts on getting drunk...
« on: August 25, 2004, 03:59:51 PM »
Indeed I am!
My alcohol tolerance is simply to high; I can't afford getting drunk anymore! :-P
Wierd though, I've been cutting down on my drinking the last few year, still, my tolerance has sky-rocketed.

Try quitting drinking for six months and detoxing.

Not only will you feel healthier, lose weight and purge all those nasty toxins, but you'll get inebriated on the sniff of a barmaid's apron.

This method of cheap intoxication takes training but is recommended.

I gave up my attempts of getting drunk the first time I got really really drunk (I drank a whole bottle of whisky, and then I did/said things I now really regret), at the age of 17.

Now, I drink a nice beer with friends so every now and then (and get a bit drunk by accident)
That's a lot nicer way I can tell ya!

(me sees under my grey eyebrows the young "breezer-sluts" in Lloret de Mar or Salou, and nods my head)

People where I am were rumoured to have injected pure vodka into their veins for a hit. Sounds unlikely, but considering the average IQ around here, maybe not so unlikely after all.

Sure, when I was growing up, people would "mainline" vodka... I've not seen some one loose control so quickly. :-(

Lol!
This post wasn't really intended to be serious. My drinking habits are kinda sporadic, I drink when I feel like it.

I was simply commenting on the fact that I haven't been drunk since newyear. Even last weekend, when I drunk rather heavily (it was free), I stayed non-drunk (can't say that I was totally sober either!).
Not that it's a bad thing.

Injecting vodka into your bloodstream is stupid.

Some idiots in uni would snort vodka.. one of them ended up in Casualty with death knocking at his door..

Whabang - best to leave it for a bit. I gave it up cos Im training to run a few marathons - now the sheer smell of beer has the desired effect :-D

Once upon a time my drinking ability was quite good, by the age of sixteen I could down a bottle of scotch and still appear quite sober (I started drinking a little too young), but now I can barly finish a six pack of beer. I guess my liver has finally said "enough is enough"...silly me :insane:

Injecting anything that you are not medically required to is stupid beyond belief...

Greetings,

@Whabang
You're lucky you can still drink, but moderately. Me, I'll never be able to do that anymore, my liver tells me 'stop and take only water'. Just take care of your alcho level. You can still enjoy it. :-)

:bigcry:

Gosh, Speaking of injecting, here I heard of a tall tale: It's about two prisoners, since liquor is not allowed in jail they have to improvise(not sure if this story is true or not, but I'll share it, man I was drunk...).
You know of Isopropyl Alcohol, well they were desperate.
One night they have a pitcher of water and a shot-glass. The first guy, tried a half a tea-spoon. After drinking a shot, he felt 'good' then became sleepy and fell a sleep. That fast. The second, tried a bit more than teaspoon. Well, after a shot he got too dizzy and was unconscious. The warden came the next morning and found the two.

The first guy woke-up with an extremely bad headache. The second guy died.

The first guy swore he'd never drink again.

Disclaimer: Believe it or not! :-D

I believe it. Isopropyl alcohol isn't ethanol, the grain alcohol humans drink. It's extremely lethal, more so than methanol. I'm not surprised a teaspoon is enough to kill. Drinking 40mg of methanol (4 table spoons) is enough to kill, and its less lethal.

For those interested:

Methanol is CH3OH, ethanol is CH3CH2OH, and propanol is CH3CH2CH2OH. Isopropanol is just propanol with a branch instead of a continous chain. While they all have very similar properties and look and smell the same, ethanol is the only one that isn't very poisonous.

Why didn't they just save their orange juice, and soak a sock with bread in it like normal inmates?
