Silly question - How does COD work??
« on: August 24, 2004, 11:05:24 AM »
Well I know that I pay for the item when its delivered!

But I've won a Cyberscsi on ebay.de, and normally I'd 'request total from seller', so I can pay. But what do I do? I send him my address and ask roughly how much I'll have to pay when its delivered? Because he is German, do I pay in my local currency (Pounds) or his (Euro)?
He hasn't got in touch with me, but I've tried getting in touch with him, and received no reply...

Any help appreciated greatly
Many thanks

Does cash on delivery even work beyond country frontiers :-?. I've used it often enough in NL and that works a treat.

And if the guy doesn't reply to emails, well, another scammer?

Well, he hasn't got any money from me yet, so I doubt he's a scammer!

However, it might be a case of "I wanted to get more for that auction, if I ignore the buyer, perhaps he'll go away"

Hmm, I suppose I could email him again and suggest he CODs it to my friend who works at an army base in Germany. I'm meant to be going to Germany in three weeks anyway, so I could always pay him a visit - gives me an excuse to visit Hamburg. Already got excuses to visit Bremen and Berlin.

Yes it does, at least between Germany and Sweden. It was a long time ago though and if I remember correctly, the fee involved was pretty steep.

It uses the fins to swim, the gils to breathe, and the mouth to eat. :-D

Hi Cyberus,

although i've always purchased items (from i.e Vesalia) with COD, the problem for you (and for the seller too) is the currency.

Inside EU . .. no problems with COD but with 2 currency could be a problem for the seller.

Good luck

Ciao
