UAE on Mac
« on: August 23, 2004, 03:18:13 PM »
Have anyone here tried to run UAE on Mac?

I've tested the version from http://www.rcdrummond.net/uae/ and it is incredibly slow on my g4. I realy would like to get it running at a descent speed to get an amiga laptop.
Money is just paper but good demos last forever.

I tried UAE on my iMac G4 1Ghz but, like you, I found it too slow to be usable (much slower than on a PC).  I don't really know what could be done to speed it up.

MaxUAE, http://www.maxuae.de/, is supposed to be usable.  Still not as fast or advanced as WinUAE, and requires quite a lot of hardware ($$$) to emulate a $100 computer.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Afaik the Mac Version of uae has no JIT Emulation.. so if you switch off JIT in winuae it should be just as slow as ppc uae..

@rayt

I think the CPU emulation in general is better in WinUAE.  Even the versions before JIT were fast enough to run at full speed with correct chipset timing, sound, etc.
