Strange colors in WB

Hmmmm, strange things are happening to my A2000.  It's an '060 Blizzard, 128 meg ram, CGX64-3D, OS3.9.  Boots up normal, all colors correct, then what seems at random, the WB color pallette goes to what appears to be a monochrome of a bluish green shhade.  Everything works fine, just a strange color pallette.  Hit reset WB and normal colors return.  Anyone ever had similar symptoms?  Up till now, my Amiga has be operating flawlessly for several years.  Regards...Art

The fact that ResetWB fixes it implies it's not a hardware problem. It sounds as if some application is playing silly b*ggers with the shared pens.

What was the most recent utility, patch or application you installed before this problem started?

Thanks for getting back to me Karlos.  Best I can remember, the most recent addition was AWeb3.5 I think.  Can't think of anything else.  My Amiga has been so rock solid for so long, that when this first happened, it really caught my attention big time.  I'm glad to hear it does not sound like hardware, that would bring tears to these old eyes.  Best regards...Art

Which screen mode do you use (number of colors) ?

     Have to fire up the Amiga and check to answere your question, give me a day or so.  About the screen shot, hanen't got the foggiest how to do that.  Is it easy or complicated?  Best regards....Art

If you have Turboprint installed and active, just press Ctrl+Alt+S and look into Ram Disk for a file called pic00 (with the number increasing whenever you take another shot).

Otherwise get SGrab from Aminet. Don't know how it works, though.

Thanks for getting back to me, and I apologize for not checking this post sooner.  My graphics card is a CGX64_3d with picasso.  NEC Multisync FE700 monitor.  Funny thing is that everything has been perfect for a couple of years now.. All of a sudden this happens.  Hope it's not a sign of worse to come.  Best regards...Art

I once had a problem with my Video-DAC which caused the screen to seem
blueish in hue. It wasn't a gun on the CRT either.

If you selected Tools->ResetWB and it corrected itself then maybe you
are running AWeb on the Workbench screen and the animated logo is
sucking out your palette pens.

Go into it's MUI prefs and into the Commander. Make a new screen for
AWeb so it's off Workbench and then get an utility like FullPalette to
lock your all essential pens on Workbench.

MagicWB icon package tends to mess with the entire palette too, but i
suspect something on your Workbench is doing it.

I remember before getting FullPalette half my icons would be blue and
pink due to the MagicWB pallete allocation of the first 4 and last 4
colours.
