@X-Ray
No. I was rather talking about the stench a cat can cause in a cat's box.

@ Toy Boy

That's a different issue. It's probably safe to say that any animal's faeces stink, but when speaking of the animal and not its waste, I'm willing to bet that in a poll the cat would be voted far cleaner and nicer-smelling than the dog.

even though there are cool people in Aberdeen. :-)
Yup, my sis is going to live there with her friend for at least 3 years, to study/work at the university (that's also why it came to mind)
She now lives almost next door and I am often going to her place or going out with her in the city, so...
I'm going to miss her

anyhoo, it seems you made up your mind
Do you already know about how and what 'bout this?
I really hope it turns out to be a wise decision 'cuz I like you :-)

Thank you. :-)

I have some rough plans coming in my mind, which I won't share for now because they'll change then for sure. ;-)

I like your avatar, btw. :-)

*sigh*
yes,
come to think of it, tis not much more than half an hour driving from where I live now...
've been crew on such a ship (this kind of ship is called a tjalk, it's lying dry on the wad, soon after this picture is taken, this sea has become kind of a wet desert) a few years ago, and have also enjoyed exactly such evenings (this picture brought back memories), and also crisp mornings.
Yup, true happiness really exists.

@speel:

Y'know, in secondary education (VWO5) we had a trip on such a ship too for a midweek. And that was indeed sooooo cool. I have a very similar picture nailed to my wall :-).

But cats do stink

Hmm, I've always found our cats had a very pleasant natural shampoo or soap like smell (and no, they hardly ever got washed), as opposed to most dogs.

So your saying that cats smell of shampoo?
Whilst dogs stink!

Cat {bleep} is one of the worst smells in the world!
Plus the fact that they go and {bleep} everywhere in other people's gardens. That may be funny if you own the cat, but I have a friend who has had cat {bleep} walked through his house from his garden too many times to find it funny. He now keeps a 'super-soaker' handy (a big {bleep}-off water pistol).

You obviously don't have much experience with cats (or maybe the wrong cats).

I had two cats of my own when I was younger. They were lovely animals actually - used to bring live rodents into the house, and leave guts all over the floor for you to tread in in the morning. Both got killed by traffic :-(

Quote

Sure, they are much more independant and not as needy as dogs (by far), but when I still lived at home (I can't have pets where i am now :-( ) the cats would come and greet me all the time, even jump into my arms at times, so that's just FUD you're spreading  :-P

Sure, some of my friends have nice friendly cats. But then as many have either fat greedy cats that trip you up when you're going into the kitchen, because they ALWAYS want food [and one of the things I can't stand is gluttony], or cats that you see for ten minutes of every day - feeding time. Plus the fact that they whore themselves out to whoever gives them the most food. I know people who have gained neighbours' cats by feeding them, or lost cats to neighbours who give them more food.

Quote

And you know that sound they make when you stroke them? That's called a pur, dude, and that means love :-)

Hmm, true, but then cats seem to get 'aroused' whenever I stroke them. Heh, that reminds me of a little 'trap' you can set when a cats on your lap:

Make sure the cat is settled and reasonably happy, then surreptitiously aim the cat's rear end at the person sitting next to you. Now, stroke the cat vigorously near its tail, and it will lift its hind legs in pleasure, exposing the unfortunate girl next to you to a blast of cats arse!

I've had a few dogs in my life that I've enjoyed very much, but I can't see myself getting another one, they're just so stressful and needy (and dumb :-D).

I love walking, and a dog is the greatest companion for this. Not all dogs are dumb.

I consider dogs more of a danger in my area than people!

And they really do stink. Catshit might stink, but cats don't carry that stink around with them. Dogs stink, always. The places they sleep stink. The houses they live in stink. Even the people who keep them sometimes stink of them.

But that doesn't mean that TPG isn't attached to his, even if it does possibly make him a bit stinky. ;)
