WinUAE 9.9.0
« on: August 14, 2004, 04:13:19 PM »
Dammit

I spent an age messing with my AHI on this version of WinUAE to no avail.
So I ran 8.2.7 (which is still my favourite version) and having messed it right up, managed to get it all going again.

Anyone else have AHI drop out on them in 9.9.0? Is there a new AHI driver lurking around for WinUAE that I have failed to discover?

Also, I would REALLY like to be able to play CD Audio through WinUAE, so I can play Genetic Species with the music

AHI works fine here. The latest driver is included as ZIP archive in the Amiga Programs directory.

CD audio works fine, too. You have to connect the analogue audio output of your CD-ROM drive to the sound card. A cable for this is usually deliered with the drive.

Bye,
Thomas

Thanks for the reply, everything however is connected as it should be, and plays fine from WinXP Pro.

When I set up a CD drive in UAE, it's seen as a harddrive, and I've been so far unable to make Genetic Species play the CD music during the game. I'll try getting a CDFS library or something.

That does not mean anything. WinXP reads the digital data from the CD and plays it through the sound card's wave device. To check the analog cable you have to disable digital audio for the CD-ROM drive in Windows' device manager. Or use some headphones connected directly to the CD-ROM drive.

That's the wrong method. You cannot play CD audio this way. Try this: http://home.t-online.de/home/thomas-rapp/uaescsi.html

It had nothing to do with the CD or DVD drive plus the analog connector. AmiCDFS + WinUAE 0991 cured all my problems.

Thanks for the advice though (btw, I checked your URL and I cannot even find MAXTransfer value in the CD0 file. I changed nothing however, and it all worked beautiful now)
