Accessing CSPPC bootmenu from WB?
« on: August 14, 2004, 12:09:52 PM »
Huya,

Is there some way to change scsi config of the CSPPC from workbench?

My problem is that I need the CSPPC to NOT scan for a specific unit, and in turn scan for another, and my rgb out on the a4k is partly broken.
Said differently, I'd like unit 2 to be scanned and mounted automatically, and unit 0 to stay powered off, until I need it (it's very, very noisy).

Sincerely,

-Kenneth Straarup.

There is two programs that came on the Phase5 utilities
disk that access the SCSI functions. One is called
unitcontrol and the other I cannot recall the name
of (cyberSCSI?).  These might allow you to do what you
describe.  I believe you can download these from the
DCE site or possibly aminet if you don't have them.

Sorry, no chance to change the setting in the CSPPC bootmenu from the WB.
You might be able to power down unit 0 with an motor off command, but you won`t be able to mount unit 2. If you switch off a unit in the CSPPC bootmenu is is as if you had physically removed it.

You don`t have by chance a CVPPC or a G-Rrex with a Voodoo3 in there ? That would display the bootmenu also.
Not really interesting, but it`s there.

Hi, no I don't have one of those graphics boards (but a cv64).

Unitcontrol can both rescan the chain (finding the disabled units too), mount, unmount and power down units. You can also change scsi configs for each drive, but not what's enabled and what's not, sadly (unless there's a new version I don't know about).

Thanks for the replies, though.

Sincerely,

-Kenneth Straarup.
