@ Red:

A couple questions related to some of your items:

1) Is there a way I can make a Catweasel (the zorro version you are selling) boot from floppy? I want to be able to play my original games disks.

2) Does that same Catweasel have a clockport?

In theory yes, you would need to use either a KickflashOS4 or Algor. I say in theory because I have not tried this myself. You could ask here in the forums to see if anyone has done it yet. I see no reason why not.

No. It has a local expansion, but no clockport.

Sorry no COD:-( You could pay with an international money order in US funds though, or as a last resort Western Union.

I'm thinking about it, since the price is pretty good...
How much would shipping to the UK be?
I like Amigas

@X-ray

No, you cannot boot from it, you need an additional Kylwalda bootadapter for that.

@Cyberus

It's a rather heavy, here are your shipping options.

Global Express Mail (EMS) 3 - 5 Days $34.75 (insured -recomended)
Global Priority Mail - Variable Weight    4 - 6 Days $20.00
Airmail Letter Post    4 - 7 Days   $16.50
Airmail Parcel Post 4 - 10 Days $27.00   (insured)
Economy (Surface) Letter Post    4 - 10 Weeks $8.90 (NOT recomended)

@Orjan
Are you sure? Why wouldn't this be possible with a properly configured KickflashOS4? It's a good question actually.

@Redrumloa

Bundled with the drivers to the Catweasel there are some highly experimental ( at least I call them this ) drivers which would allow the Catweasel to boot from drives connected to it, but in the manual Jens has written ( roughly ) that they are unstable at best, and if you really want to be able to boot from the PC HD floppy in your Amiga he highly recommends the Kylwalda.

Perhaps the Kickflash allows for some new drivers to be written, but with what exists today, I wouldn´t take my chances... :)

Quote from manual regarding the different files on the driver disk:

"Beta/BootCat

Please don't use - if you want to boot, consider buying the Kylwalda bootadapter! A program to make Catweasel unit 0 bootable. It will set itself reset-proof and patch a few system routines to accomplish this. If you have more than 2 floppies connected to the standard floppy connections, df2 and df3 will disappear after reset. It will mount TD0: and TH0: This program can only be run from a Shell."

Keywords being: "Please don´t use"... :)

All of this is offcourse completly academic, since X-Ray asked for a way to play his old floppy games.

Most of these don't work under the OS, and those that did could easily be installed to HD....
1. Make an announcment.
2. Wait a while.
3. Check if it can actually be done.
4. Wait for someone else to do it.
5. Start working on it while giving out hillarious progress-reports.
6. Deny that you have ever announced it
7. Blame someone else

That's not what I had in mind luckily:-) What I meant is have Kickflash mount the device as normal at startup. In theory this should make it just as any other device and bootable.

@Red

Unknown... Sure, Kickflash can mount the drives for ya, but the drive(s) wont be called "DF0:", it will be called either "TD0:", "TH0:", "PD0:" or "PH0:" depending on which disk is inserted...

And besides... Most "NDOS" games hits the hardware without going by MFM.DEVICE ( MULTIDISK.DEVICE in the case of the Catweasel ) So I don´t know if this would work...

So, gents...is this Kylwalda the real deal then? To work with non-dos disks? And more importantly is it current or no longer produced?
