Doesn't the vintage SysInfo display chip revisions?

:-( I was going to suggest typing "showconfig" into a shell window, but I've just tried it out for myself to be sure, and the Buster data is not listed.  Opening the case is probably going to be the only way.

:-( Just tried that too.  It offers some data, but nothing for Buster....

No, it's not possible to see Buster revision number by software.
I don't believe there was any software version implementation built into the
device.

The one sure way to find out is to look at Buster (U700).
It will have a device number of 390537-xx where xx is the revision number.

If it's an older machine, especially with one of the common revision B
motherboards, it's probably Buster rev 9.

Thanks.
Like I said, someone is selling one, I'd gladly open the case myself :-D
Well, if it's a rev D it has rev. 11 one. But is it possible to check A4000 mobo without opening the case? (gee... :-D )

;-) Actually, if the Zorro slots were empty, and all the back planes were removed, a strong flashlight and good eyes might be enough to notice a few details such as the number of memory SIMMs on board, or whether the buster chip was soldered diectly to the board instead of being socketed, and like that.
:-D Of course, you'd have to be familiar with the A4000 motherboard's layout already...
