Educational titles?

Does anyone know if there are any educational titles as freeware?  With so many games freeware I wonder if I could get some software for my son to learn on with my Amiga!

I have an educational title called Beginning Reading. It was made by MicroEd 1985-1988 and says it works with WB1.3. I tried one of the disks about a year or so ago on an A1000 and it worked alright. PMail me.

Well, I did a quick 'aminet search' on educational and found a couple of programs you may want to check out.

No guarantees if they are any good though!

ABC.lha -  A abc's learning program for youngsters features digitized voice and helps a child gain coordinatin with the mouse

Division.lha - An educational program for kids of all ages that helps to develop and sharpen division skills.  Has four levels, a practice section, and a testing section.

These are definitely free, there are some more, search the  Misc/Edu directory, the Game/Misc directory and the Misc/Kids directory.

I wrote the Talking Coloring Book and the Talking Animator many years ago. I just happened to be searching the net to see if there was any trace of it, and stumbled onto this forum. It's amazing to see that there's still someone who remembers it!  :-D  :-D

There are a few exciting developments in amiga hard/software, and a there have been quantum-leaps in the emulation department with Winuae...

I got the disks from FastRobPlus and have them installed on my Amiga 600 for my 5 year old son to use!!!

I actually did a WHDLoad of Talking Coloring Book so he can play it on OS2.x as the mouse pointer is FUBAR on OS 2.x +

I wrote PC hardware drivers for awhile. I'm on a PC now, but that's irrelevant because I'm not writing code for it anymore. I write PHP web pages for Linux now mostly.

Out of curiosity, how well did Talking Coloring Book sell?

Who published?  I never saw the packaging, but remember from the B&W lablel it looked like it might be an independent release. Something impossible these days!

TCB sold pretty well because it was one of the first pieces of software available for the Amiga. It was self-published by JMH Software. We wrote tons of courseware for the Pet, 64, and Apple II, this was our first venture into shrink-ware.

Black and white label? We published it with a color label. Must have been a copy you saw.

I sent it to Tj with sme other educational stuff I got in a lot I purchased from a local guy.

It would be hard to believe they had pirated it, since this person owned no pirated software at all.  And the label was not poorly made.  Did TCB get re-released at any time?  
This person did own a lot of shareware from a company called "Software Excitement!" - stuff like Ultra Paint" and "Sinking Island"

Did you have any issues with shareware publishers selling some of your stuff as shareware?

Now that I think about it, JMH might have done some reprints later on, after they ran out of the original labels. They used the Talking Animator box for those reprints.

I never saw any evidence of third party un-authorized publication.
