Elbox have helped me in the past... have you asked them if they can help you somehow... perhaps if you supply the serial on the CD or something?

Well here's the thing:

1. I'd have to order from Krakow Poland (elbox hq) no US dealers stock it. And I will if I have to :-(

2. I thought I needed the MMCD to run the Mirage and Mediator

3. I bought the box with no documentation so if there is any Mirage or Mediator owners that could help me get the cards recoginized or provide docs it would be helpful.

I have a Voodoo 3000 pci and a realtek network card do I need the MMCD to get these going?

TIA

MMCD should originally be included in the whole Mirage 4000 bundle. How come you didn't get yours? Is it a new or a used tower?

I think that if someone were to borrow their copy it would only partially solve your problem, as you still wouldn't be able to get any future updates from Elbox, since you are not a registered MMCD user. However you would find out if your mediator works or not.

Anyway, are there any legal issues to this? Probably there are. :-?

As Elbox make money on their drivers they sell the Mediator and MMCD seperatly aswell as together... owning a Mediator doesn't meen you own the drivers (MMCD).

I had the same prob as you owning a Mediator but not the MMCD... I got hold of one in the end though and you will too.

The Mediator "work" without the CD but without drivers it's just active PCI slots you can't use.

Yes you'll have to get the MMCD to get the drivers for you're PCI cards.

Thanks for the posts guys..

What confuses me is for a hardware company to SELL drivers to said hardware...

 :-?

Can this be right? I thought the MMCD was only for TV cards and sound cards and such..

I bought the whole unit second hand. (Mirage 4000 tower w/Mediator 4000 for mirage)

Ask the seller what happened to the MMCD, as it is supposed to be a part of the whole Mirage bundle. Maybe he forgot about it.

@ magnetic

We typically stock most Elbox items in our e-store (www.livewiresystems.ca).  I also have the Mirage 4000 with voodoo3, NIC, SB128 sound card etc - all work very well!

If the previous owner doesn't come through with the CD, please PM me and I'll see what we can do.

thanks.

I also have the Mirage4000 tower and was hoping to maximize the unit to be "The Power Amiga" in my collection but I'm a bit dissapointed in it. Though it's a sturdy, well made and ok looking the low amount of 5.25" places and weak PSU (aswell as the blue coloured details that doesn't do it for me) is a big downside in my point of view.

I'm looking envious at the other Mirage case and wish there was a way to swap so I got the space I need.

I have enough custom builds, mods, cases so I'm realy interested in something solid of the shelf stuff for this unit... waiting for Elbox to pull out a fat A4000 bigtower soon. ;)

hmm.... I like the Mirage case. Of course not the beige part or blue for that matter ;-)

My previous main amiga was an A4000T and I like this case better. Its much smaller and holds more drives. And the integrated pci slots is very attractive as pc cards are dirt cheap compared to rare amiga parts.

The only thing i'm concerned with is that the Shark ppc is vapour :-(
