Sending accel's abroad
« on: July 13, 2004, 04:13:11 PM »
I'm going to be sending an 030/40MHz with a 16MB simm off to Denmark this week and wanted to know if there's any precautions I should take.

It's wrapped well (bubble-wrap, box, carrier bags/extra padding, another box), what I need to know is, is there anything I should write on the box?

Something like "computer equipment do not x-ray"?  Or anything like "present - no duty"?

Cheers

I hope you put it in an anti-static bag before wrapping in bubble wrap. Bubble wrap generates a terrible amount of static.
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

I did indeed, I just forgot to mention that cause it's well hidden in the bubble-wrap :-D

That's always a good one for the recipient.  I appreciate when my Canadian friends do that for me.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

I'd say you're fine.  Two boxes covers the air freight standard and it sounds like you wrapped it for all possible problems included a water landing as it appears it has a floatation device ;-)

Yeah, I have shipped many items from my ebay sales and never had one be broken (yet, knocks on wood) as I tend to wrap them for nuclear holocast as well :-)

Cheers.
