Not sure about 64MB ram either. :-?
There are 10 types of people in this world.
Those that understand binary and those that dont.

The "120MHz CPU" bit is suspicious.  What CPU is that going to be?  I doubt you can get an 060 up to that clock frequency without a *lot* of work, and I think PPC CPUs started coming in at around the 160MHz mark didn't they?

Otherwise, I don't know about accelerators for A500s, but assuming they do exist with the same sort of capabilities as say A1200 accelerators, then the amount of RAM is perfectly feasible, as is the hard disk size (though if it doesn't say IDE or SCSI, smell a scam).

Anyone who had upgraded their A500 significantly would list how much chip and fast RAM it had, particularly as an obvious thing to upgrade in an A500 is the chip RAM.

Bundled items, "operating system", smelling a scam.  Again with the "anyone who had upgraded their A500 that much" comment.

Though selling an Amiga with a completely blank disk is again perfectly feasible, say for example the previous owner just wanted to be quick and sure that they had wiped the machine, rather than running over the data on disk carefully.

minimal details...
zero-rated recently-registered seller...

Perhaps one "0" too much...
I have just 57 MHz and 134 MB :-)

It's probably a PC in an Amiga case.  Gateway was going to make UAE-based Amigas but they couldn't get the speed out of their stupid PC hardware.  Only people that worked at Amiga got them.

I asked the seller what kickstart version the A500 has, he didn't know.

The big tip off is definately the sketchy details combined with the fact that there is no pic and the seller has a zero feedback rating... While everyone has to start there at Ebay, this sort of thing smacks of scam.

I would be curious to see what the person who ends up buying gets...

Anyhow... I guess that with enough patience and skill, one could fabricate their own PPC accelerator for the a500, but even as a decent electronics person, I don't think I would have enough time/money/patience to undertake such an endeavor and I feel you'd have to "doctor" the ROMS too would you not?

Anyhoo, I wouldn't invest in this one ;-)

I doubt it's a scam, probably more like someone who knows very little about computers and nothing about Amigas.

120Mhz A500? Impossible, period. 64MB? While not impossible, extremely unlikely.
Someone has to state the obvious and that someone is me!

Maybe he's been given an old C= PC and an A500 user manual, and managed to get something confused in his head.

I'm with Bloodline on this one... a doubtfull but possible explanasion is that it's equipped with an A2000 040 turboboard where the 40Mhz/040 have been overclocked to 60Mhz and where he's seen the 120Mhz crystal, or a Deringer 030 card overclocked to 60Mhz... though as Bloodline said... it's likely to be an old PC with an A500 manual.

I think that this seller simply has no clue what he's selling and he probably made a lot of assumptions when writing the item description. Happens all the time.

I'd suspect he used an automated lister, and picked the lowest values it would allow......

With that description and lack of any pictures, though, I doubt it'll get a bid.
