flashing led and psu
« on: January 28, 2003, 08:37:09 AM »
Hi all,
I put my A1200 MB back to the desktop. Without accelerator card, nothing wrong. When I plug my A1260, sometimes the power led is flashing, sometimes not. Why is that ? Connectors do not look dirty.
Another question about power supply : In my tower I have 3 HDs, 2 CD-burners, 1 BlizzardPPC , 1 BvisionPPC and 1 varIO card. Is the power strong enough for everything ? What is the rule to follow ?

you definitly need a beefier PSU (a 250W should suffice, but the more the merrier) this is if you have the standard amiga one (then it is a wonder if you get it started at all)

if you run a blizzardppc and bvisionppc you should consider
getting a new beefier PSU

The winner tower has a 250W PSU AFAIK.
It is 2 separate topics :
-the flashing led on a A1200 desktop with original psu, with or without A1260 blizzard
-a question about my tower and how much the psu can cope with the list of all my things which lay inside

the orginal amiga one is paltry and the blizzard 1260 might
push it over the edge (shouldn't but ... this might be aggrevated by age of the  PSU and the mains -spikes etc.-)

the flashing led seem's to indicate a HW fault.
