How can I make use of CC0: ?
« on: July 06, 2004, 05:41:32 AM »
Greetings,

I've been ignoring this far too long. Now It's a good time to ask.

On the Early startup, I notice a device called CC0:.
How can I make use of a CC0:?
Any there any suggestion on what this ever do to my A1200?
Are there any software that takes advantage of it?
Are there any hardware that takes advantage of it?

:-?

Thanks,

Gizz

Oh yes!

the only thing you can boot from is a PCMCIA card that is 1, 2 or 4 megs in size..you can actually put Workbench on it and it will boot off the card.  You can try getting an Apple Newton PCMCIA card and it should work...........dont get anything larger than 4 megs.

now as far as the same port being used for other things..well..................you can read Compact Flash cards, Sony Memory stick, SD media (with the PCMCIA convertor) and even ethernet cards to go online with!

go to Aminet and download  cfd.lha and fat95.lha and install them...you will now be able to read all these medias and that includes IBM micro drives!..........I have a 2Gigabyte PCMCIA memory card on my A600 :-)
keep in mind that these card are different than the CC0: device cards.....those can only be accepted upto 4 megs on the Amiga.

Don't you love your Amiga? :-)
CD32 is actually the best Amiga ever made by Commodore!...

@leirbag28

Very Enlightning indeed! Makes me smile. :-)

i have a mistubishi prep card that I have not used for a long time. I'm not sure if it's broken. When I set it, The message said Write protected. I posted a picture of it somewhere in these tread. Be right back...

Strange, It seems to have disappeared! I pasted it on that particular thread, but it is not there anymore...hmmm.
