I must confess to liking some of Woody Allen's stuff too.
I feel like I shouldnt 'cos even rumors aside he has a creepy air about him, but I cant help it :)

I heard something about him having relations with his 12 year old neice...

...but me being me, I've a hard time not peering into the abyss, and I recall all those insiders that I've heard speak on such issues, and according to them, things such as pedofilia run rampent in Hollywood "Holly would if she could if you know what I mean".

There was the Cory Feldman interviews...

The various tracks from Keith Thornton aka Kool Keith aka Dr. Octagon, etc. That made him very unpopular in the "bizness".

The various stand up acts of Cat Williams, which like him or not, did not pull any punches and like Mr. Thornton, made him a very unpopular man in the bizness. And if I do recall correctly, they with their puppets the media, made sure to demonize his entire life shortly after.

And let's not forget R. Kelly who repeatedly got caught having sex with or peeing on little girls after the show, and yet, even after his third time getting exposed (who knows how often he's really been caught or done it), went on to do the National Anthem for Desert Storm, the track "I Believe I Can Fly" and the world forgave him over night.

No sir, I don't think there are many in Hollywood or the world of entertainment in general who do not live seedy little lives, and often times we forget that they are someone behind the mask, and just begin to accept them as the characters we know and love on the big screen or what have you.

That being said, I guess we all have our vices, though some people's vices are lower than low, none the less, be that as it may, I still find Woody's old material utterly irrisistible, and find some contentment at least in the fact that he's not promoting his personal vices in his work, at least none that I've seen or watched anyhow...

...contrary to the vagina monologues (revision 5 and back), which...

...well I'm getting off topic here, and the details are pretty disgusting. So strange that women across that world use those plays as a message of female "empowerment". What ever happened to happy, healthy, loving relationships and families that tried to protect children from the grotesque imaginings of some of our so called "adults".

 Sighh...

Well anyhow, I need to stop thinking about this crap, continue my life trying to be the light, and in the mean time, kick back and enjoy those Woody Allen stand up videos!!! :)

I've seen The Last Detail since, it was great!
Here are a few available recordings of Woody's stand up acts, all from the 60s:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBgjo1Vadd8

Thanks for the links, gonna tear into them here very shortly!

Funny you should mention The Last Detail. I tried to get one of my close friends to watch that about a month ago. We got to the part where they were riding on the bus, and he had me turn it off, stating that he can't stand old movies, especially when you can hear the ambience of the reality around them when they are talking.

As for me personally, that's part of what takes me out of modern films, the lack of ambience, texture, reality. Everyone is pretty, handsome, perfectly chiselled, acting has gone down hill, and all the effort that used to be put into special effects, careful script writing, and what not, has taken second place to CGI aka video game action sequences.

Now that my friend is not here, maybe I should watch it again. I still love that scene where they beat up the Marines in the bar!!! :)

Oh yes, DO NOT forget to check out Harold and Maude! That and being there are my two personal favorites from Hal.

Both videos were fantasic! Yes Szilard (where do you guys get these names anhow?!), if you like Woody's stand up, you are going to LOVE his old short stories. They were 100% in the the same spirit. I recall reading them, taking it all in word by word, then sitting back, contemplating what I'd just read, then bursting out laughing. Creeper comedy! :)

Usually from parents. Szilárd is a direct translation of Constantine,  Biró means Judge. But if someone would ask if I'm related to Mike Judge,  my answer is: Uhhh, no?
About Woody molesting  Dylan Farrow: I don't  recall any evidence presented by the Farrows, so he is innocent until  proven guilty. Of course it's enough to be accused of these kinds of  crimes to tarnish your reputation.
This is just like television, only you can see much further.

I just KNEW you were going to say parents! :)
Seriously though, I think you guys got awesome names over there. Here most of us have simple names that don't mean a thing like Dick, Biff, Cliff, Tucker, and the like. :)

As for the Woody scandal, I thought he admitted to having relations with his niece and defended it... then again when has the media ever been a resource to rely upon for truth?
The media is like high school, when they want to destroy your image, they will not hesitate to point the finger, pull out facts, or make them up if they need to, all the while hiding their own dirty secrets under the rug like they've never done any wrong.
And if you do something wrong and the media elite want to save you, raise you up, and use you, they will not hesitate to cast you in a family friendly movie the clear up your reputation. It's a sick world we live in, thank God for your ports that take me away from it all. :)

Admitted having relations? On the contrary, you can read his answer to the accusations on the NYT website: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/09/opinion/sunday/woody-allen-speaks-out.html?_r=0
If this doesn't sound like a textbook example of parental alienation, then I don't know what does. The media wants scandals for juicy clickbait articles, and is quick to present mere opinions as facts.

To be honest, I never followed this story, what I heard was just hear say, and it was a long time ago.  I try to avoid celebrity news, good or bad, even if it's about a celebrity I generally enjoy. It's just that after a while, you keep hearing all this crap and nothing becomes shocking, especially in Hollywood, though once again, I have a tendency to lean towards what Woody is saying here, rather than what I had heard, simply for the fact that since the get go, Woody has been a man who's words never pulled any punches, and who's intellectual observations on society and what not, have not always went over well because they often conflict with the general propaganda programming of our age and society.

What boggles my mind, is how folks such as George Carlin hung in there for so long without the media trying to tear him down. Or maybe they did and I just didn't hear about it, but talk about someone rocking the boat and telling everyone else to learn to swim if they don't like it....

Again I'd think Woody would have had more a chance to go under the raider considering how often times you have to sit down and ponder what he's just said or done before it's full weight sinks in.

Anyhow, I was conforted to read this, is sounded very rational like the Woody I'm used to, and I do know a thing or two about what it's like to be innocent, yet to stand accused my self.

Having talked of all of this, it makes me think of a song by Negativland, it's a song called Happy Hero, and it's about those other celebrities who ARE guilty, but who have a lot of friends in high places who help keep their public image squeaky clean. :)
