1- Well for flexibility I'd choose it on a PCI card. Like that it could be used on A1's Pegasus, even PCs thus raising sales.
2- Er... see 1..

The custom chips are not made any more! They CAN'T be made anymore

Well "can't be made" is a bit strong, it could be done when you have lots and lots and even more then lots of money..

 :-D

They process use to make them isn't used any more, even if the masks still existed...

So you would have to design and make the chips from new!!!

Untrue, there are still 14 founderys worldwide capable of producing the proper NMOS silicon used in the Amiga chips.

Then all you need are the masks and a really nice bank manager ;-)

Why ? Of course a PPC can hit the custom chips directly. There is nothing which ties the Custom Chips of the Amiga to the 68k :) Actually there IS
software which accesses the AGA Chips and such
with the PPC...

Still I think it is pretty pointless (especially as the Chips would need to get redeveloped... if you put the amount of money needed into hardware development you can probably develop much more powerful chips :) )

Why would you even want to produce new AGA custom chips? Get yourself a cheap second or new Amiga 1200 and simply desolder all components :-) There you go, custom chips ready to be inserted into appropriate sockets on an InsideOut type of PCI board :-D

Whatever happened to that company that was making A1200's in a 5 1/4" bay to install in other computers???

Would it be possible to reproduce/re-license this technology??  Seems like a bit better way to go than a PCI card as the whole machine was available, then develop some kind of a plug-in kinda like was originally planned on the Aone motherboard, even network the two together or something.
