It's been in the box brand new for 20 years, yet they don't include the box, manuals, etc. I wonder how much those cost extra...

The shipping cost is totally unreasonable!;)

To top it off, they say they have sold 3 128D machines (at this price?) in recent days. I might believe there's one fool out there with more money than brains, but three of them? I not so sure....

MMMMM, maybe I should sell my 128D!

@Firedawg at that price they should be happy to throw in FREE shipping.

He also sells a 74ls193 chip for $20. Jameco sells them for $0.79. The Home Computer Wars book sells on Amazon for less than $30, compared to his $102. Other things sound reasonable, but a few of these things are really interesting price choices. I wonder if anyone goes for them.

Not before I sell my two.

FWIW the auction is for a 128CR (the front just says D but the back says DCR and it's metal and not plastic).

If it were truly brand new in the box, with all documentation, etc. (not true here), then I personally believe that it would be worth at least $1000.  I've seen a couple in excellent condition go for $400-500 (and some crappy ones in fully working condition were not too much less).

Don't think so, Starfox.  The most expensive completed sale I could turn up in search since end of January is this one.  $500 seems to be the top price.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/COMMODORE-128D-COMPUTER-JIFFYDOS-KEYBOARD-MOUSE-CABLES-1571-Z80-CP-M-C128D-/130642723158?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e6ae9c156

Now, to be fair, their current $2,500 auction did not turn up in my search, which it should have.  So ::shrugs::

I think that's par for the course in the US.  I'm pretty certain only the DCR was sold in the states.
