It was the reason I subscribed to Cu Amiga.

It was also the reason I eventually got a PC.

As a person who likes almost anything aircraft related, and would swap any game for a good flight sim, i have to say TFX is a bit dissapointing. It was never finished to a good standard. Very buggy. Only 3 planes and one of the (F117 Nighthawk) is almost unflyable. You have to treat it very well, otherwise it does very strange aerobatics. The graphics are OK in places, the best on the Amiga.....in places. Overall it gets a 5 out of 10 on the Amiga flightsim scale. Not particularly realistic either. Shame really as I was excited at being able to play it when I got it.

I want a good flight sim

I guess we have to try F-16 Combat or Tornado, which are available through back2roots, on UAE then.

Hi,
I still have fun with Birds of Prey. Its not easy to complete a full war thing.

Hmmmm You know what...I`m temtped to have a go on F16:Combat Pilot. Not exactly realistic, but extremely fun to play. I`ve had some mad moments in that game over the years. Its quite good using 2 Amigas too. Birds of Prey isn`t great. I never got anywhere with that. Though that was about 10 years ago and I didn`t have the manual. Good choice of aircraft n weapons though.

The best Amiga flightsim is Jetpilot though. Actually quite reasitic physics, but unfortunatly not that much to do except fly around europe.

I never really went overboard on the DID sims.  I found that F29 Retaliator wasn't really deep enough, but that the game engine worked well for something like Epic.

My favourites were Falcon, which I could (and did) play all day and of course F18 Interceptor.  Flying around the bridges and buildings of San Fransico on full throttle was great fun, but I never did complete the last mission...

I did once try Jet Pilot which really was a class act.  The attention to detail was impressive although it was a bit much for my 40Mhz 040 to handle I felt.  I'd love to see a new version of this game for the AOne...

Okay so it seems that the game isn't as good as i mentioned. But someone is going to get hold of it for me and i will try it out. At least i have an 060 to play it on, maybe it won't be as bad. :-)

Hmmm... I always liked Birds of Prey, but then I had the manual. Was nice enough physics-wise with an analogue stick and on realistic mode. As you said though, great selection of aircraft and weapons, and some cool missions...
