There's also AmiFTP as well, which also does the job.

There is obviously something wrong with my software as I had a similar result under UAE. I also notice with the new accelerator the PC = FFFFFFFD6. I tried AmiFTP, not bad. I have been using SimpleFTP now which works well enough.

Unfortunately my Windows7 took another round of updates from Microshaft and now WinUAE won't run anymore at all. What a mess with my windows7 notebook. Last weekend  I went to restart it and it was stuck on the shutting down screen, so I turned it off. It never booted again after that and I thought the HD probably crashed. I put in another HD and it happened to have a fresh copy of Window7 ultimate with all my apps installed. It was a backup I made after redoing my previous laptop. I thought I had lucked out because all I had to do with install a few drivers. And it was way faster than the stock install with all of the Toshiba shovelware. The OS worked a few days but wanted to reactivate but I did not want to do that because the Winblows an OEM (system builder) copy tied to my old notebook which I gave to my mom. My fear is that it would not activate, or worse yet, activate and deactivate my mom. So I tried to switch the key for both my home premium OEM and my upgrade key for ultimate that I purchased. No dice. And now there is the issue of WINUAE not working at all.

Oh. I've gone way off topic, but it is my thread... Lets just say I have bigger fish to fry than ATC ATM :)

I also located my 3.9 CD and I now know where it is. I am thinking of installing it, but right now my Amiga only has 16MB ram because my new accelerator can only take a single-sided SIMM.

IIRC AmigaKit and Vesalia used to sell single sided simms.

That's why they call it "Windows Update".  It eventually trashes itself forcing some users to "update" their hardware. I always disable auto updates of any kind wherever possible.

Amigakit has some double sided 128's.

I ended up getting this off ebay. Let you know how it works out. Micron ram used to be really good memory back in they day.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/120644000620?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649#ht_500wt_971

Wish I could have found a 128, but at least the 64 will get me back in the game. Actually, it also may be wiser buying the SCSI adapter than spending some huge sum for some obscure SIMM if I want more. I really don't need SCSI as I am happy with my FastATA and eSATA port. I'm just glad you sent the 16mb chip as I would have nothing otherwise.

As far as Linux goes, and I know enough about Linux (was previously employed doing kernel development for a device running 2.4 ARM kernel and used a Linux development workstations all day long for cross-compiling) and the answer is... ummm..... NO...

Linux is fine... Linux may even be at the point that it is user-friendly. I don't know. Just I don't see the point of running it on a gaming notebook. What killer app for Linux takes advantage 8GB ram, 8 hardware threads and a 460 GTX video board? "Dude, watch how fast I can recompile my kernel..."

Also there really is no equivalent of WinUAE under Linux (or OSX).

cheers!
