Yes I know, but thats not quite what i meant. It was a dispute about an Amiga product between two companies, surely that should escalate into childish wars and threatened lawsuits?  :-D

Me either - I hardly ever use it. In fact I can't remember the last time I did. I expect that *might* change with the new machine but who knows?
I'm just delighted they sorted it out as it could have been embarrassing.

Not this time, because Bill Buck isn't involved.

(Cue righteous indignation and trolling)

Wonderfull news. :-D

I used DOpus all the time on my A1200 - every file moving, deleting and what not.
It gave you excelent conntrol.

The best thing is, that finally the Amiga recieved back one of it's (or should I say "HER") good old programs.   :-)

Now let's wait for DPaint, R3D, LightWave, Brilliance...  :-)

Directory opus magellan imo is a superb product, Directory Opus should be Amiga only as their windows version is a total disgrace and a complete joke.

It didn't escalate, as GPSoft have left the Amiga Market for the Windows market. As such, they probably didn't feel the need to fuss and fight over a past product on a platform they no longer support. They may realize some money out of the deal but not in the amounts from their Windows products. Why make a big fuss over something that will not bring in as much money as other products?

I would guess that they are not that interested in the Amiga, but they certainly know how to use the forums to push their agenda.

You're joking, right? This appeared on the forums because a third party posted (with permission) an e-mail from Dr. Perry, who seems to have no agenda other than being sure signed agreements are abided by AFAIK. You're attempt to see evil here is misdirected.

There was A heap of TROLLING along about this on Ann.lu (the TROLLBAND) a week or so ago....
and thats why hyperion fixed this i think? , anyway as i said there i will say here "its just a matter of time till this is fixed" ....and it is now.....thats good...we like to have options , i an using 3.9bb2 now ...and dopusmag2 (5.82?) as a normal filemanager (ala like DO4 was), mainly because of the lacking support for os3.9 features and humongous bugs... (disk size etc)
Whats up with all the hate!

:-D I use DOpus 5.82 Magellan II in Workbench replacement mode, and I couldn't be happier with it.  To see that it may be included with AmigaOS 4.0 is good news.  In my opinion, at least some of its functionality should be implimented as standard, though not necessarily everything.

;-) Mostly I'm thinking of the Listers, and the Filetypes editor.

Always preffered Dopus4 myself, did try Magellan II  but found it just a tad sluggish but i'm very much nitpicking here. Tis a fine program and it will prolly rock on the new h/w.  :-)
