Hi! My name is Douglas and I am setting up an Amiga CDTV system. I have a complete CDTV with mouse, keyboard, 2 disk drives and the trackball (with regular joystick ports!!!). I started out with a Commodore 64 back in the early 80's, went to a C128, then a C128D, then a 386/486/pentium and finally ended up on the Macintosh platform where I am today. I have also owned at various times an Amiga 500/1000/1200/2000/3000, but never used them as full time machines, only to play occasional games. I am finally getting a bit more "serious" about learning the Amiga platform and I really ended up liking the CDTV because it allows really easy transfers from my Mac to the Amiga via cd-r's and also it has S-video output built in for really easy hook up's to an LCD television. I have bought some Amiga programming books and am looking forward to playing around with Amigados and also some Amiga Basic and C. Unlike the rest of the world, I enjoy workbench 1.3 and don't care about 2.x/3.x/4.x, this is all about nostalgia to me and having fun.
Anyways, that's my story..thanks for letting me join the site!!
Have a great day everyone!!!
Douglas
