I used to be a fan of AWeb and used it for around 90% of the browsing, but after installing AmigaOS 4 final I noticed that there is IBrowse 2.4 OEM version which is much more useful than a demoversion - it still have some restrictions but they are not annoying once you are used to them. Firstly I tried it only for curiousity how it'll work and to my surprise it performed very well and the best feature I saw was that it showed the sites with cyrillic text in they respective alphabet, so no more problems with êèðèëèöà sites, for which I needed to switch fonts in AWeb. The tabbed browsing and built-in search-bar are great features and it looks very good. The only thing I used AWeb since then is to take my hotlist from there and import it to IBrowse. And not a single crash after using it for some days already. 1 week before my vote would go for AWeb, but now it's definately IBrowse 2.4.

if you can, register it. It will fly! :-)

Does the IB 2.4 OEM have the "2 connections only" restriction?

Quoted from the about:

Limitations

This is the AmigaOS4 OEM version of IBrowse 2.4, which has limitations including the following:

Five browser windows or browser tabs
Eight simultaneous connections
Four search bar entries
HTTP, FTP and file loading only
[/b]
Enough for my surfing needs.
P.S. The quote button works while posting now - never worked in any Amiga browser before, so I needed to "Copy and Paste".
 :-D Also smilies.

I think ibrowse is more compitable as it is now, but i still think that Aweb is the one with highest chance of being more successful in the future, which is due to the fact that Aweb is open source. Ibrowse will be doomed the day the developers give it up due to shrinking community and sales.

So you guys surfing the web with the Amiga do you browse for fun or doing serious work?

Must suck not to have CSS support in any browser. Does not fonts mess up and such then? Luckily table based layout still hangs on..

I set IBrowse2.4 demo to work fine on WinUAE, had to change default Times font to more standard Verdana & it worked very well... But pity, there is no Amiga+N shortcut or similar for New Page [to open in new tabbed window, as in Opera on FFox], page zoom [bigger font], GMail does not work [for me] etc, but it is nice to see a progress on my favourite browser when I was on the Amiga... Good old times :)

btw, here's snapshot of my yesterdaymorning's Winuae with IBrowse & Verdana fonts

All best in NewYear.

In addition to my Amigas, I also run Mac OS 9 on a G3 (seems I can't be bothered with a modern OS that's still supported, grin).  Here's the fun part, there are many more sites that refuse to open on the antiquated versions of IE and Netscape that will still run in OS 9.  Those same sites  are usable in Ibrowse (perhaps not rendered perfectly), but they don't refuse and tell me to upgrade or use their browser of choice.

I've been using Ibrowse since it first came out and like it's bookmarks over Aweb's.  I haven't upgraded to 2.4 yet, though.

Note to Amiga browser developers:  Please don't give up, I appreciate your work!

You can change the font settings :-o

No you can't zoom... I don't use it, but whatever...

Flash is rock stable here...

Using GMail right now...

Maybe it's not the browser that's useless... sorry but I'm sick and tired of lazy ass people making judgement because they didn't try to make their program work. If you'd bought it I'm sure you would've put more time into it.

Works great on my A1 with AOS 4 Final ;-) ... and on the ML I'm reading loads of happy messages from happy classic owners...

I do serious work (research for my writing) browsing on my A4000T with IBrowse2.4 (and no problems with GMail here).  Sure not all sites show up exactly as intended but most are still quite usable.  And fonts are never a problem if you bother to set them properly.  If you look hard enough, you can even find some packages on the internet with all the needed fonts and instruction on how to set them.  For example, look towards the bottom of this page.

So you're saying something obvious thinking that you're smart? When you're saying something clever I'll tell you. Till then, live in your little globe of "it's working for me"...

I meant it must be weird of getting the same size font and the same style font everytime since most sites use CSS for styling text-size and font-style.
