That's a lot of money for a game that nobody is going to buy.

Thats why they are using kickstarter. The people wanting to have the game made are the ones who are paying for it.

If anyone else ends up buying it after its done, all the better.

Heck, Wasteland 2 raised what, 1.5 million ?

I just fired up LSL5 on my A1200.

I forgot how bad the graphics are. Its like they used the EGA pallette or something....

The sound is great though using a ECE serial port MIDI adapter & Roland MT32.

I really wanted to play LSL3 with the MT32 but i need to find an Amiga MIDI driver for 3. The one from 5 does not work with 3 :(

A lot of the Sierra games had really dodgy looking amiga conversions.

I played the first LL when it was a text only public domain title on my Atari 800. It was an APX (Atari Public Exchange) program on cassette. One of the few standout public domain games at the time. Played it again, years later, with graphics, on my Amiga 500.

You know, LSL and Kings Quest Space Quest were OK but you know what. I liked the Lucasfim games much more because you did not get 3/4 the the game and have to start over because you forgot to do something obscure in the first part of the game or walk of a cliff to your death because the movement was sort of slow and glitchy for precise control.

A lot of money to fund a remake that simply won't feel the same.

I remember LSL series fondly on my A3000, just like I remember the Monkey Island series.

Bought the Monkey Island remake for the ipad, and while it is done just great, it "doesn't take me back".

I played it a few times and never touched it again - it was disjointed and cobbled together on the tablet platform, and did little to revisit the nostalgia I had for the game.

That being said, it's sort of an enigma.  I'm no longer the teenager that loved these games, but I have real fond memories of them.  I could fire them all up on the UAE machine or crack the A1200 out if I wanted the true experience, but I'd likely play them for 5 minutes then go back to BF3 on my gaming PC, bored stiff.
Yeah, aging is a bitch. I can't or seem to lack the ability to enjoy Rambo 2/3 movies (and a bunch more) anymore like I did when I was a lot younger...DAMMIT! :destroy:
