A600 Diskchange problem

I have an A600 which I've started using and it has a problem recognising a floppy disk change.

If its started with Workbench 2 in the drive, it can boot from it but doesnt notice a new disk after that.

What could be causing that?

There's a switch in the drive that is used to detect when a disk is changed. It could be stuck or dirty or broken.

In a Shell, and with a disk in the drive type:

diskchange DF0:

What model of disk drive is it?

Chinons usually have jumpers on the rear and early Panasonic have either switches/resistors.

Yes, its a Chinon. Tried the diskchange command but didnt work presumably because Workbench wasnt in DF0:

Will take the top of the floppy and see if I can see anything obvious.

Quite a few of the keys are also reversed when typing (q & a for example), presume thats just a keyboard layout or could it be a sign of a faulty keyboard?

Hi!
The command DiskChange stays in C directory in SYS: volume (Workbench in your case).
If you want to use it without diskette inside copy it to RAM:

From CLI/Shell:
copy c/diskchange to ram:
path ram: add

For the keyboard, if it's just 'Q' vs 'A' and maybe 'L' also, it should be just AZERTY layout (used in France, if not wrong).
Change keymap...
