The 8375 is used in the DKB Megachip to give 2MB of ram according to BBOH.

The Agnus page of BBoH is a little screwed up. It is not a 100% accurate source of information.

But yes you can find the 8372B 318069-03 and 8375 390544-01 on the DKB MegaChip. However it is not known if they changed the PCB to use one or the other.

Unfortunately most Agnus chips have exactly the same PLCC packaging but they have a widely different electrical pinout.

Really??  Which ones are these, so we can look out for them?

I got my information from Dean Brown (DKB)

There are actually 19 or so different versions of the 8375 Agnus, each of which has a different pinout.

Well, who am I to argue with Dean?  :-)  Good grief.  I thought all those revisions were minor mask changes and bug fixes.  Who knew many also had some different pinouts?  Hopefully none of those are destructive to each other.  [ie moved power pin(s).]  EEEK!

I bought a 8375 390544-01 is it pin compatible with the 8372B or 8375B Agnus part number 318069-03?[/quote]

No it's isn't, don't even try it.

However 8375 318069-03 is pin compatible with 8372B 318069-03 and I've actually tried one in my A3000D, no problems whatsoever.

It's 318069-03, no middle '9' - at least on mine.

Do you have any proof this is true? I'd like to know for sure if it is true.

I don't know how else to prove it to you without blowing up one of my machines and sending you a video or picture.

8375 (390544-xx) is not pin compatible with 8375/8372AB/8372B (318069-xx).

Agnus info

Sorry it is in german, use altavista if you must.

Cheers.

Very very interesting, I must try to talk to this Yokes Heinrich guy.

Shame he refers to the BBoAH Agnus page (which is wrong).

BTW: If you put that URL into google and click translate it's not too bad.
