In essence, this board went for a fortune for the same reason those DKB MegaChips go for 40-50 dollars... It's not so much that you're buying a lot of RAM, as that your buying the RAM to use it Where you need it. (DKB MegaChips are used in Toaster 2000s to let them run the 4.X software). I could probably get 128megs of ram easy for the price of a DKB Megachip, but I couldn't ever use it in my 2000...

man I still need a dkb megachip, I would just never pay that much for one... lol

@Boingboss:

Don't you seem to have missed the point a little here? You're not paying $630 for the power of the machine, they're paying that amount for the fact that it's a rare item - that will make a vintage machine work at recent (ish) standards. Sure, if you want pure computing power you buy a PC, but there's not the enthusiastic following with a PC. Look how long Amiga Format survived while there was virtually no new commerical software coming out for the machine!

Boing Boss is just messing with us again.
You can tell becuase first he said he would use that money to get an A3000T, then a PC, but nowhere did he say I was stupid for having an A4000T instead of a better quality "Commodore Amiga 2000 Series Computer"
(Cue fanfare)

So he is not himself on this thread  8-)

Evidently, he couldn't get $620 for it, here it is again,

DKB 3128

only $0.99 starting.

Ah, now this explains why I've never had any luck tracking down a Zorro based RAM expansion for my A3000.  I've desperately wanted to expand the thing beyond it's current setup and despite noticing that a certain person who posts here has a Bhudda, PCI board, graphics and PCI ethernet cards available and great prices, I cannot justify expanding my A3000 unless I can add more memory to it without having to by some expensive CPU card which I don't need.

I never realised Zorro RAM cards were so rare.  If Elbox (or anyone else) makes one then I'd be VERY interested... Not $600 interested, but still VERY interested.
A2000, A3000, 2 x A1200T, A1200, A4000Tower & Mediator, CD32, VIC-20, C64, C128, C128D, PET 8032, Minimig & ARM, C-One, FPGA Arcade... and AmigaOne X1000.
