Help! I'm 'screwed'!!!

Argh!
I'm trying to get my A4000 mobo out of the (original) case in order to remove the batter (de-solder from underside) and about three of the motherboard screws are completely solid. I've tried different screwdrivers but the screws just don't budge, and are starting to get chewed already. What can I do to loosen them? I certainly don't fancy spraying wd40 on the mobo, lol.

Hell, once its smothered in tartare tauce, and with a squeeze of lemon, I'm sure it'll be tasty as!

I don't have any pliers that I'd be confident enough to use without the pliers slipping with the force and scraping the motherboard or knocking out an IC or cap somewhere... :-(

Hi Argo,
For pictures (not mine) of location of battery  see this.
Unfortunately, I was hoping to desolder the joints from the underside of the mobo to remove the battery, although it can supposedly done from the top with a little jiggery-pokery, so to say.
The computer is VERY dusty too, so I was looking forward to getting it all apart and giving it a proper clean :-(

The thing is, I am worried about swarfs of metal causing a short on the mobo somewhere; I have a can of compressed air, but all it would take is one little bit of metal to get caught somewhere and "pfff!"

edit: It's all a bit of an annoyance though, I've been waiting to sort out the A4000 for a few months now, I'd ordered the 3.1 ROMS, which have now arrived, got a Cyberstorm MkII to put  in there which I haven't used yet, and thought I'd finally get it up and running this weekend....oh well
