Excuse me, isn't this a very inferior card? I mean the PPC end is very weak and it is a 68040 card at that...so really you are stuck not enjoying fully either world of 68k or PPC at all.

it isnt very top notch, but i have a scppc with 604/150mhz, i wouldnt resign on 060 though. its possible to upgrade, but must be done by someone experienced i guess.

Assuming for argument sake you did manage to upgrade the 68k to 68060 and squeeze 50 Mhz out of the 68060. You are still stuck with a very weak PPC card. Let us say you managed to squeeze an upgrade to that for a decent 250 Mhz maximum...though I think 200 Mhz seems a more logical squeeze. Wouldn't you be end up spending a fortune upgrading and hacking this card doubling the price of already an expensive card to match that of the top of the line already PPC card for A1200 that goes to 350 Mhz with 68060 @ 50 Mhz in them? I mean the question goes...is it even worth hacking through the card and you still will be stuck with severe bottleneck that comes with THIS type of card.

I think I agree completely with the rest of the community that one should skip A1200 PPC and stick with either a powerful Apollo or Blizzard card.

But by that very same argument, why bother with any Commodore-Amiga gear? It's just a hobby...nothing more, nothing less. As long as people get enjoyment from it then that's all that matters.

Ok so now when I wanted to buy the PPC people all over this amiga.org community told me not too and for the same reason I sprouted it from my mouth and yet when I said the same sprout people told me to some other person, the community tells me why not and it is a good card and there is nothing wrong with it -_-.

I am just going to drown myself with :pint::pint::pint::pint::pint::pint::pint::pint::pint::pint::pint::rant:

Blizzard PPC cards are very stable in either a tower or desktop but it needs a very good power supply. Its all about power supply & cooling which is the basic standard to getting the card to run stable. Test here have shown Pico PSU have a problem with my set-up but this is something I will look into at a later date as its not important at this time but users should be aware that high speed cards may have a problem with Pico PSU ie here it will boot up fine but when a hard reset is done it will refused to boot after let's say after 3 mins regardless if the PSU is cooled.

Normal 060 cards holds no big advantage over a 060 version of Blizzard PPC card as it can clock 90Mhz+.

Last known test 96Mhz but was very stable at 93Mhz.

Are you saying that you can overclock a PPC 68060 side to 93 Mhz and it will run at 93 Mhz like a normal 68060 running at a 93 Mhz with sweet 128 MB of RAM and add additional PPC side of running at 350 mhz, with BVision...all squeezed into a desktop case with a powerful power supply??!

All test are done with 256Mb ram.

There is a write problem with Blizzard card clocked at 350Mhz,it trashing the hardrive this is why it has jumped to 380Mhz but still retains very high speed memory access. I know where the problem is and this is the hold-up for processor change over but its not a easy fix.

Bvision may stop working at around 73-77Mhz on the 060 side but you can continue all the way to around 93-95Mhz.

But I don't recommend overclocking Blizzard card to above speed remember Blizzard card has 83Mhz logic.

WARNING: Blizzard logic chips must be cooled for high powered cards.

ALL MODIFICATION AT YOUR OWN RISK

Question, who would I need to ask to configure a system like that and how much would it cost to make a system like that and what would it take to make a system like that...knowing well it is in a desktop not towered Amiga here.

Why shouldnt we discuss the pros and cons of the object for sale? I'd say its all quite on-topic.

Here is why I love classic Amiga, especially A1200. It is a blank toy that can be molded to suit certain community configuration and based on that configuration you get to use certain combination of software library or not.

For example there is the A1200 Apollo 32 MB desktop community, that can enjoy the 68k sweetly in a desktop case but limited to 32 MB of RAM...pretty fast but certain software library even on a 68k cannot run due to the 32 Mb of RAM limitation.

Then there is the A1200 Apollo 64 MB Tower community, who can enjoy the Apollo even more with much larger software library and have fun in AGA mode.

Then you have Blizzard 1260 128 Tower with AGA a little slower in CPU but even larger quantity of RAM but possible RTG upgrades and so on and so on

So you guys can see where I am coming from right? A very versatile configurable toy where you can join a certain community of the same configuration you have. Amiga classic is truly IS my favorite toy!

Because this is a "For Sale" thread, not a "Free-for-all" fight over the merits of the card.  That belongs in the "Discussion" threads.

Shouldn't that be in the amiBay website then?

Add the SCSI kit and you can add another 128MB ram. That's 256MB in the desktop case (or tower if you like towers). ;)

There! You see what I mean!
